Daft EU requirements. One can pay MMC to pop them back in, but there is a (slim) chance that the Police, and MoT inspector or an eagle-eyed buyer could notice.

It’s called a Tail Tidy and is an option the dealer does once they get the car before delivery. Mine is having it.
