Neat job, hope it cures the issue, if not perhaps a little more overhang with a turned under edge to make rain droplets drip off well away from the inlet holes ? Good thinking. This iteration was constrained by the piece of aluminium available, it was that width so I just chopped it down to length. If it does prove to be a failure I will certainly do as you suggest and hack out a bigger piece from another sheet.

Well, this is the "bodge" topic. The perspective is deceiving, the rubber pipe is actually a lot further away from the exhaust than it appears in the photograph. It's certainly a lot safer than having fuel squirting onto it. Good. Your call

Counted as a 'bodge' as it starts with scrap! .... sometime in it's chequered past when the 5-speed box was fitted, the plate that covers the open part of the bellhousing round the sump was lost ... apparently this is common and the general crossflow wisdom is to just run without it .... however, I live up a mile of forest track and I know sods-law says that sometime a thumb-sized rock that just fits beween the starter ring teeth and the casing will ping in there and wreak havoc!! So I decided a cover was needed. Started with a the sad front wing of my racer that didn't survive my lapse of talent at the recent Doune Hillclimb .. chopped the end off and recovered a chunk of alloy sheet ... then some highly technical WAD work (Weetabix Aided Design .. .. made a template out of cereal box cardboard) ..... alloy cut out and rattle-can black satin painted .... finally bolted in place. Hopefully that will keep stones and household pets out of there!! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/07/17/20220717_141757.jpg) K

Despite a nice run out in the old F Super yesterday, the brake pedal action is getting annoying as it randomly fails to release It's a pain to keep having to fully fit back to the car to test, so a bodged up test floor was made ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/08/12/F-type-pedals.md.jpg)

After struggling for ages, I finally chucked in the towel and resorted to what I class as a bodge removal technique ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/19/Main-crankshaft-oilseal.md.jpg) Whilst 'on a bodge fest' I went for the repurposed can as a crankshaft spine protector for the new seal ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/19/Drinkscan-protector.md.jpg)

Neat job K, that engine is from my era of initiation to changing clutches and much else on my cars and as you typed those guards were often found to be missing on Fords, not only that but often some of the engine to bell housing bolts would have been found to be left out too..!!! Cooperman, top marks for improvisation, takes me back to a time before us bodgers had access to fancy-dan rip-off/Snap On kit...
