Yes, is that something I should be worried about in particular with a Morgan? In any event, the car is back to Malvern for its 3ish month check in come early January, and I’m sure they’ll give it a good thorough clean and check up then.

Plus Four at negative four.
First time out in the Morgan in sub zero temperatures today Spencer, nice to see you are still getting out and about. Like the photos as always. Bit brave without the side plates though. I managed to get out last week for a short ride roof down but we now have snow so think it’s likely to be the last one for a while.

Yes like any car it can cause corrosion so I avoid salted roads and of course a thorough wash and dry when you can helps.

Yes, is that something I should be worried about in particular with a Morgan? This is a very interesting question. Does anyone here have experience with salt and Morgan ? Salt will accelerate bimetallic corrosion, especially if the underside gets wet and all those mixed metals start eating each other

The Aero and CX chassis are essentially all aluminum with wood lining the inner face of the rear wheel arch. If they are anything like Tarka it is all covered by a thick layer of underseal. The only point where salty water might get in is the bead between wings and body and I treat that a couple of times a year with ACF 50. The car was finished on 3 July 2013, so next year it will be 10, and has run 46,300 miles. There is NO evidence of corrosion, despite winter use. Bottom line: in my opinion an Aero or CX chassis Morgan is no more likely to suffer corrosion than any other modern car.

If not dried off after washing, the front brake pads are prone to sticking to the discs.

I'm still wondering if I should pick up my new Plus Four from my dealer in Stuttgart at the end of next week and drive it home to the Black Forest or if I should take a trailer. We have a lot of salt on the roads right now

I'm still wondering if I should pick up my new Plus Four from my dealer in Stuttgart at the end of next week and drive it home to the Black Forest or if I should take a trailer. We have a lot of salt on the roads right now Personally I would trailer if available, especially if you are not going to use in until the weather improves considerably - it also gives you the chance to check everything is tightened up properly whilst the car is really clean & dribble some corrosion preventative around all the seams
