Well, I'm trying not to bodge things up. They want to replace the front crankshaft seal since I have the engine out of the car. But I can't figure out how to actually get the seal out. It seems that it's jammed up tight against the inside so there's no way to get a tool in there. And I sure don't want to break anything. Any suggestions or do I have to just go for it? In such cases I drill **carefuly** 2 small holes in the sealing ring and use a screw in every hole to press the seal out, or I use a pliers to pull the seal out.

Malcom, My starting point is based on the mostly stock TR-4A in my car: - Main venturi: 32
- Aux venturi: 4.5
- Main jet: 135
- Air correction jet: 180
- Idle jet: 50 F9
- Accelerator pump jet: 40
- Needle and seat: 2.00
- Check valve: 50
- Emulsion tube: I'm using Keith Franck's Small VP Tube. My choice for a Weber tube would be either an F11 or F15 tube.
Once I get it fired up and running OK, I'm going to use an Innovate Motorsports AFR meter to do the fine tuning. If you PM me your email address, I'll let you know if anything changes (and any steep or expensive bits in my learning curve).

Wipers developed a mind of their own, took the lid off the box and refilled with Lithium grease as it was dry. Seems ok now.

My 15 year old small grinder expired last weekend so as it's a Makita with proper metal gearbox and decent bearings I thought worth repairing, so a new armature and some brushes...sorted for just £20 ! Last week I had a KRAFT moment and lost the shed keys. I eventually resorted to taking the door hinges off to get inside in case they were in the shed I also need charcoal for the bbq. As it rained heavily today the shed was wet and not tinder dry so I got out the trusted angle grinder. The quality hardened steel lock lasted seconds. Like a red hot knife through butter. Very satisfying but then the lock was Chinese. Replaced now by a lock with a 4 number combination supposedly from Germany. Our local small hardware shop has a good range I do like power tools and with the grinder the joy of all those sparks

Our neighbour went away for the weekend. I check the letterbox every day for sticky outers and put their bin out Sunday evening for Monday collection. Last Sunday I found his Merc keys on top of the bin.
My favourite tool is a concrete cutter. A few years ago I needed to trim the concrete block doorstep, and the hire cost was as much as buying one. It has earned its keep ever since, but is a dangerous thing to wield The massive giro effect makes it feel like you're standing on the cable, but it cuts concrete like butter.

I thought you were going to say you sliced his car keys up for security
