Barkbark - did you just coat everything in ACF 50 or have you done it selectively?
Selectively, the items at moderate risk of corrosion. I may black hammerite the exhaust hangers, it’ll be quick and easy to do with the boot liner removed. Barkbark, would it be possible to see a picture of the underside of the boot liner ?, im wondering if the addition of 4 baffles to the underside of the liner would redirect some of this water spray and dirt. Yes, I’ll take a picture tomorrow.

Thank you Barkbark, there really isn't a lot of room there to add a mud guard over the rear tyre without it hitting the boot liner under full compression. As the cut outs to the side are asymmetrical to allow for the belt drive on one side it would be difficult to attach flaps hanging down either side to help much, and the exhaust also needs to be avoided on the other side. Looks like most of the road dirt and spray seems to be at the rear and front of the tyre, it may help to design a couple of covers made from a woven nylon material that would absorb the water droplets and help protect the fuel tank filler, exhaust and inner body structure form dirt and stone damage.

It looks like they have tried to make the tray more dual purpose to eliminate the mudguard need by making it deeper and closer to the wheel

First coat of black hammerite on the exhaust hangers. A little fiddly to do, but overall very easy. The two smidges of red that can be seen are reflections: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/03/16/0B9C5F46-D504-47A9-A6BC-AB5231B436DC.jpeg)

Amazing to me that they do not plate or paint those from new. Have they no pride in their product? The added cost of better corrosion protection surely would not prevent customers from lining to buy all things Morgan. Heck, they might even be able to sell more to those fastidious types currently put off by the kit-ish nature of the brand.

All car manufacturers (large and small) today seem to take the approach that anything underneath/out of sight on their product requires no paint/protection....suspension parts, exhaust hangers etc etc corrode away and need extensive work. Our 10 year old JLR vehicle needed a new fuel tank cradle becasue of rust...and JLR took 9 months to produce one!
It would be nice if Morgan were to be an exception to this.....

Thanks - I don't think I have the extra insulation material on my liner as shown in your 3rd and 4th pictures.
A sports exhaust modification maybe?
