Possibly surprisingly, we get as many positive reactions to the car, hood down, as the Plus 8 did.

The Boxsters are a really great car I tried one when they first came out and like the Audi TT, being quite tall and a long back my head was pretty exposed and I struggled to see traffic lights change etc. thru the screen. a problem with many modern highly racked windscreens for me these days. The big difference I've found when out with the metal folding roof is that following a shower, I give the roof a quick dry off with a leather I keep in the boot and the hood can go down, which with a mohair hood you would have to wait till it dries out , not usually a problem in the summer, but can be more of an issue the rest of the year. So I'm getting far more opportunities when out to go roofless during sunny spells in inclement weather.

I noticed the Tarka advert. a really striking colour combination, it absolutely stands out in a crowd and the sumptuous leather has a great 'club chair' look and feel to it, best of luck with the sale of it. I found with my Roadster which was beautifully spec'd etc if you price it competitively they go very quickly even in the current market.

Like all things in life they have their ' turn' or 'cycle', and then its sometimes sadly time to move on. There are many cars that I have cherished eg my Porsche 911 Turbo, that I often wish I had kept, but the reality is with limited garage space etc., you literally are only a custodian for time for someone else to enjoy them after you. What you have are very fond memories and life experiences which are often more important than mere possessions.

I very much agree with your point of view, John. Nothing can be held forever, not even ourselves. I don't always find it easy to let go, but it's the beautiful memories that count when a period of ownership or life is complete.

I quite like the Alpine, they’re very well made and a nice drive. Slightly odd looks yet somehow, that makes it more attractive.

The more I see of the A110 the more I am attracted to it.

I think the shape of the A110 somehow looks better in a lighter colour

I have followed this thread with interest. The basic problem with the direction the discussion has gone is the problem of comparing Apples with Pears.
I have “loved” Morgans since the age of 18 years old when I saw a 1951 white Plus 4 in a garage showroom. While I missed buying that car and instead got an old MG my desire for a Morgan continued and I now on my fourth Morgan, a Plus Six.

Yes maybe I could be interested if one of you can come up with a sports car that has:
• Open top motoring with half doors
• Classic 1930’s lines
• Reliable affordable power train with ready supply of parts and service
• Hand-built limited production that makes the car unique, special and exclusive
• Association with a delightful group of other owners
• A sports car that engenders endless warm fuzzies ,”Love your car!”

To me only a Morgan will full the bill!

You’re absolutely right, Kerry, there’s nothing out there offering all that a Morgan does and the CX range has opened up a whole new catchment of customers who didn’t like the driving characteristics of the Trad. Chassis cars. The O.P. Howard, has for a long time, wondered about Morgan cars, in the nicest way, questioning the sensibility of owning one.
Now that Morgan has developed the car to offer the modern chassis, I’d say the time has come for Howard to give in to temptation, stop over thinking it and follow his desire. Come on Howard, you know you want to!😀
