Looks like a nice small sized boat. Just 260 passenegers apparently.
On Tuesday we go off to the fjords on Arcadia. 2500 passengers if full. She is pretty small by comparison with the new boatssome of which are 3 times bigger

You don’t have to be a herd animal for a cruise! I tend to steer clear ( pun intended) of the huge ships as they are too big and over subscribed. Also avoid the family oriented ones! We did one and the pool had to be emptied and cleaned 3 times due to kids errr bodily ejections. We are booked on one for the new year, sailing from Southampton Dec 30th. Anyway, Morgan owners are herd animals. Look at the noggins, events, organised trips. As for Howard......

They are not for everyone- I can do one or two a year lasting a week usually - just booked the Canadian Rockies to Vancouver by train then Alaska cruise.
California requires electric plug in or pollution capture so can be done at a cost. Need to get back to the fjords soon as Norway to ban cruise ships from some of them in the next few years.
“The rule requires that every vessel coming into a regulated California port either use shore power (e.g., plug in to the local electrical grid) or a CARB-approved control technology to reduce harmful emissions. These include diesel particulate matter, fine particulate matter (PM2.5) oxides of nitrogen (NOx, a precursor to smog), reactive organic gases (ROG, another precursor to smog), greenhouse gases, and oxides of sulfur (SOx). One example of an alternative to shore power is what is known as capture-and-control technology that employs a “bonnet” to cover a ship’s exhaust stacks, both containing and treating harmful emissions.”

Thanks for the technical info  We had this one in yesterday, she is a regular and the Council estimates that every passenger coming ashore off these exclusive type smaller vessels has a spend of £200 so they encourage them and why not.. It's not our sort of thing but pleased it brings joy to those that do and more importantly provides gameful employment to many from very needy countries and backgrounds ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/30/h.jpeg)

Howard not sure if you have been on Arcadia, but we have several times once out to NZ several years ago and last October out to the Greek islands from Southampton. I nice size of ship without being too big. Great evening entertainment and you will love the Fjords if you have not been before.

A lovely beast. I had the joy one summer in the early seventies of it pulling the train taking me to school from Paignton to Churston at a stately 20 mph
