I am thinking of the tiny hood swivel pivots that might save my finger tips as well as the screen.
Do they work on a four seater as well?

Thanks in advance!

Miklos

It's a different model for the four seater. I don't know who supplies them now.
Someone will hopefully.

Jon Taylor used to make 4 seater ones, but stopped some years ago. He sent me over some sketches and I made myself a set. I don't use them much, as I tend to leave the hood off from about Feb to Nov, and then put it on permantly over winter.

The only time I do use them is when I'm putting the hood up when it's cold, making the Everflex hood really stiff.

Here's the thread and pictures. I've adapted further as the thumbscrews stuck out too far and put pressure on the hood. I now have a pair of thin head allen bolts. and a small ratchet allen key spanner that I keep in the glove box. Takes a few seconds longer but no great odds.

Swivel Thread.

I can only speak for the 2 seater version, they're extremely good. If the 4 seater version works half as well they've got to be worth having.

They are a superb solution to Everflex hood fitting, unless the hood is warm and therefore a bit flexible. One helpful tip I have seen is keeping the hood warm before fitting. Easy at home but a hot water bottle has been suggested for travel. Never tried it. I have the swivel pivots ( 2 seater car).
If I think I might need the hood on a run/trip I fit the rear and fold the front part to cover the rear shelf area like a mini tonneau cover. It acts as a sort of easy up hood and saves time fitting. I use the clear windows as guides to fold the material.
I also have an Everflex tonneau cover that is tight to fit unless warm.
Another tip is to help remove the head restraints. I use car wax on the stems. That makes them slide easier. No more flying head restraints or danger of hitting my face if they are tight and need force to slide them out!

I wouldn’t want to be without them.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are good swivel pivots for?

Thanks very much - so I will go for the four seater version.
So even more I wonder why they never came as factory equipment...

Maybe I`ll fit the hood more often as the trip will lead all the way to Goodwood...
Have not had the hood mounted for the last two years - drove a bit faster instead.

@ Leroy: the swivels lower the hood bars so you should be able to fix it much easier to the screen studs and put tension on it by lifting it with the swivels as a last step.
