Great to see this, and the electric 7 on the way soon.

There’s also an article in Evo magazine about the Project V.

A beautiful looking car but the range isn't very impressive IMHO.

Interesting! I notice that Caterham have a much larger stand at Goodwood this year. They are launching the new Electric Seven at the Festival of Speed tomorrow.

I shall pop into their stand on my way to the Pembleton one! wink

This car is not my cup of tea but this is interesting:

Battery charge time 15 minutes 20-80% SOC

I am a old-fashioned biker so I know nothing about EV, but this sounds like a good time for a fun vehicle. But would the price fit for such a use??

Nice looking car, with shades of the Alpine going on and the EV Seven looks good too. Not bad for their first EV offerings, as Jon says will be interested in your thoughts Ian.

What a stunning looking thing.
Hopefully the huge design team in Malvern take note of it, buck their ideas up a bit and come up with something new instead of re doing the past again and again........

Lots of photos in Autocar today.
Looks wonderful, but what is if for?
Like most EVs it is a solution looking for a question.

Perhaps I'm an old grumpy git, but for me a sports car has to sound like one, as well as look like one.
The range is unimpressive, but charging time quick enough, as long as you can find a fast charger: therein lies the elephant in the corner.

I think Caterham is absolutely heading in the right direction. They are now building the concepts for the batteries of tomorrow. Toyota has announced a completely new generation of dry batteries for 2027 to launch, half the size and half the weight, with a very long range and a charging time of just a few minutes. The time of these absolutely stupid SUVs that weigh 3.6 tons to be able to drive 380 km will be over sooner than one can look, at least that is my perception. We will see new opportunities for the niche manufacturers. The affordable bread and butter EV will come from China. But brands like Caterham and maybe Morgan, if their cost structure doesn't fall to their feet, can serve a market of individualists. People who will still enjoy driving tomorrow.
BTW, with all the digital development, it shouldn't be that difficult to program a small electric motor to simulate the character of an ICE in combination with a five-speed gearbox, a mechanical clutch and a nice sound from the loudspeaker.

The problem with 2 seaters is that they don't have sufficient wheelbase to accommodate a big battery pack, so range is always going to be a problem.
