Thank you Gentlefolk for your input.
I have ordered the kit from Glencoe, spoke to Robert who was very helpful. Also ordered the Mahle KL167 fuel filter to replace at the same time.
This mornings job was to thoroughly clean the boot in preparation. I have printed the comprehensive instruction sheet by Ian and Andrew and read every thread I could find on the subject. Now to wait for the parts to arrive.

Bugger! I installed a new pump and filter as per guidelines. It started almost first go then stopped after about 4 seconds. Won't restart. Checked the 15 amp fuse again and this time it's blown!
So what now? Is there a starter relay? Something else that stops the pump energising? I heard it when it started. 😫ðŸ˜

Two notes to self:
1. Ensure fuel lines are connected correctly to fuel filter!!
2. Do not allow bare leg to come in to contact with exhaust pipe!

Do not allow bare leg to come in to contact with exhaust pipe! I know your pain! Rite of passage for all M3W owners.... My leg scar is from day two of M3W, when removing the bonnet to show a family member after a ride. Now I just try to keep others from doing the same.

I heard it when it started. 😫😠Check cables that are routed under battery tray - they go to the pump kill switch and can wear thru - check in low light levels and you might see the flash! Blows fuse intermittently depending on engine vibrations...

Hi Landy, does it start ok then stops as soon as the engine is under load? Then won't start? Leave it an hour and starts ok then repeats process?
That's a faulty crank sensor.............
