I needed a voltage stabiliser to replace the one that had gone on the blink.
I found one on this website https://www.autoelectricalspares.co...positive-earth-bottom-bracket-3831-p.asp so placed my order.
I received an email confirmation of my order, but nothing subsequently. It's now two weeks since I placed the order, the item hasn't been delivered, nor have I been able to contact the company. The phone is not answered nor are my emails. I found several people have also had problems with this company, see https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk
Further investigation indicates that the company no longer exists, although it is still taking money.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Thanks for that, but the firm the you are refering to has a similar name to a very good auto electrics firm called Auto Electric Supplies, https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/. It would be very easy to get the wrong one by just doing a simple search..

I always use eBay and pay via PayPal, avoiding if at all possible dealing direct with suppliers. eBay have a '"not arrived" option offering efficient refund service if needed.

Plenty of these available on there. I note it was a positive earth one you ordered directly though so assume your car is such.

Hi Richard, yes it is, and with some quirky wiring The stabiliser is to feed the replacement temperature gauge.

Off thread but one site says it has to mounted Top up as one of the components is gravity affected. Yet all it is a simple transistor, zener diode and capacitor,

Original ones were electro mechanical.

I guessed that Richard but there is no need with the electronic ones. In sixty years as an electronics engineer I never came across a simple circuit like these that is gravity sensitive.

If you still have a dynamo it should be easy to switch to the battery negative earth norm. You then have a greater range of solid state instrument regulators. I used this one on a Land Rover.

I did buy from www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk few years ago and I received the electrical parts that I ordered. However, during the COVID I order a flasher unit and never got it. So, I contacted my credit card company and they were able to reverse the transaction after making verifications.
