hi Guys Have a 2004 series 1 aero
That wont start left idle for 3 years
Checked pump in tank wont work
removed pump ran on external supply works fine

Might as well clean the tank while the pumps out . Fit and replace if it works on the bench finniky things pumps when their left for a while . Change the fuel filter petrol these days don't like to be left 3 yrs is a long time. Em

Suggest changing fuel pump relay as a starting point. I think they are colour coded as to type/purpose on Aero's. This should do the job.

Aerotaff have cleaned out tank as I had to to remove pump
Deejay have checked fuse and will check relay tomorow
Viper you are so right

I thought there was a separate ECU as per the X5 the v8 engine an electronics came from can’t find it any where

Paul. If you open driver side Bonnet there is an ali box with allen screws,open the box and you gain access to the electrical bits this gets really hot when driving also water can dribble over the box allthough dry inside you can get condensation from the louvres. It's worth pulling the fuses and relays out for a clean. most of the electrical gremlins on the series 1 starts here good luck. Em

Have the lid off to check the fuses and has not .been out of my workshop for several years
So I do think it’s water does anybody know where the fuel pump ECU is located

Likely the fuel pump relay will be next to fuses alongside all the other cube shaped plug in relays.

Further help in relay location. Below is image of Aero Plus 8 electrics box under bonnet, yours will be similar.

More here. The fuel pump relay will likely be one of the bank of light green ones labelled "25".

Fuel pump fuse is F37 20amp in block of 29 as displayed on electrics box cover of Aero S1 below.
