Today I want to know it.

Undo the wheel and the brakedrumm. No movement so far I see. So with a little more concentration drum and wheel fixed again. No movement, problem solved.

The Germans. Allways in fear, but to silly to fit a centerlock wirewheel ;-). But no testdrive until now.

So thank you all for your answers.

Now, what was the reason for the movement?

Not shure, but clear: Not the German dealer.

I think, in September last year we’ve done a nice journey in the Alps. Stelvio, Umbrail and some more. At the end the MOGs rearbrake screams sometimes. So in the cars hibernation I undo the rear wheels and the brakedrums for a cleaning.

It looks that the right side was fitted correct and at the left there was something wrong. In cause the most time this year I‘ve had problems with my left leg and can‘t operate the clutch we‘ve done only 200 KM. So the problem wasn‘t noticed. At MOT I told the engineer „please don‘t use the braketesting machine“. He agreed. And drives the car for some tests. One was stopping the car from low speed with the handbrake. Another point rolling/driving backwards the same. An unusual drivingsituation. I think in this test the wrong fitted brakedrum and the wheel settles correct. And than by the following control the movement was visible.

But now it‘s cured and a testdrive the next nice day will show what happens.

Dear John,

today I struggle what to do. Thinking about a nessesary report I was out for a „testdrive“. Problem solved, no movement after 50KM.

A little confused.

The last journeys out, SOMETIMES at low speed it sounds like knocking at wood at low speed, just rolling (right pedal totally off).

I thought about the dampers. So today lift the back and have a look. So far nothing wrong in sight. But the wheels.
Also as two years ago now both wheels have a movement about 3/8“ or 10mm. Now: both.

I undo the wheels, the nut was tight. The left wheel was easy to take off. With a look at the flange I think it sits on a cone. As I learned in the past two matching cones would be tight, also as a seal. But here I see there was a grease coming out, not still draining, more like lines out of a centrifuge? The right wheel as difficult to take off, and with the same „stripes“.

No demage visible at the flange and teeth.

Any ideas? Or usual service after about 5000Miles/ 7500Kilometers?
