Had problems with my sons go kart at the weekend, it hadn't been run for about 4-5 months, drained the petrol out of it and it was a yucky yellow colour. refilled with fresh petrol and away it went.
Got me thinking about our Plus 8, it's been parked for about 3 months now with the same fuel in it, and with winter approaching, unless I get time in the next few weeks to take it out then it could easily sit all winter with whatever it's got in the tank in it.
Does anyone ever get stale fuel problems?
Does anyone ever go to the extent of draining the fuel and then re fill with fresh fuel when you intend to use it again?
I'm guessing its a problem that's getting worse because of the changes in the blend/ingredients of our petrol in the UK

John, I think one or two on TM use fuel stabiliser additives for winter hibernation
It can depend on how complex the tank venting is, on my old F Super, as it's a simple tiny hole in the cap, I always drain fully if I'm not going to use over winter

I have used Stabil for garden power tools fuel.

Big risk of condensation and consequent water in your fuel if draining tank and leaving empty. Safer to fill the tank with quality fuel and/or stabilisers if you really cant drive in winter. My experience is that there are usually plenty of fine days in winter to enjoy a run on salt free roads.

The only time I had trouble was with an almost empty tank, and that was way back in the 90s.

Agreed I drive the car in winter but always aim to come home with a full tank

I'm on my last tank of ethanol free Esso in the 4/4. Very likely the mower will be run on Aspen4 once the current ethanol free Esso runs out. ( https://aspenfuel.co.uk/products/aspen-fuel/ )
