While driving to my local Morgan experts the temp gauge started “marching” - immediate stop and after 15 minutes cooling, Bonnets open, completed journey to Kirwans and the mechanic looks underneath and says “ another radiator to play with”- this rad is a replacement which was fitted some 15,0000 Kms ago.
I gather radiators are not available at present from the factory - (one for a friend of mine is on back order since July!!!)so another Long wait is in prospect.
what is wrong with MMC??? Surely they need to have radiators in stock given the number of failures.

Most disappointed as otherwise, the car is a gem

Cheers!

Not an easy wait ahead of you, I can understand in part why Morgan has no stock of radiators as they may well be waiting to see if the latest radiator fix, is a fix and then hold those rads. and fittings in stock. It not as uncommon issue as you think, my 107 Mercedes 420SL had its left side engine manifold crack after a very fast motorway journey, apparently not an uncommon occurrence.

Fortunately for me after hearing that Mercedes only orders them in batches of 20 from the manufacturer and there was a 420SL in the corner waiting 6 months for one, my order made it the 20th outstanding and it arrived within days compared to wait the other owner had endured. Best of luck with getting this resolved quickly.

Hi Robbie, sorry to hear of another radiator failure.. Have you had your engine ECU reflashed yet?, it is believed that this is now being undertaken at the same time as radiator replacements. When our last radiator was changed I was informed that the reflash changes the control sequence of water flow during the engine warm up from cold and helps reduce thermal shock to the system, this in turn will help prevent cracking and leaking of the radiator.

When my radiator was replaced in the summer the ECU software was upgraded and I was also told that the radiator had strengthening welds. Maybe later rad changes were done like that,.

My car also has the latest upgrade with stronger brackets. It was a 2 month wait to get a factory slot luckily it was a small leak so we could use the car. Em

My MY 2023 Plus Six has been at my local Morgan dealers for 6 weeks for a replacement radiator. I’ll ask about the ECU upgrade when I get it back

Sorry to hear this Robbie, as the Factory is building new cars it does seem daft that a new Rad can't be pulled from pallets of 'build stock'

Unfortunately that's never going to happen in any car factory.

I was hoping with some dealer pressure and MMC still being a bit old school...
