Rich, If it comes off it would be brilliant. Salisbury has a full size plastic Spitfire at the Rugby club. This is due after the bombing of the Supermarine factory at Woolston, Southampton the building of these marvellous planes were spread across the country. It is a Mk 9, painted as flown by Johnny Johnson. I drive past it every Friday as I go to and from the Boscombe Down Aircraft Museum every Friday

Lived 20 plus years in the Peak District village where Johnny Johnson lived and died. A signed picture of 'his' Spitfire hangs in the Village Hall. Stories of Douglas Bader staying over with him complaining about the discoloured bath water. They really were special people and very much 'of their time'. Peter H
