When we went, we based out tour on the Scenic Car Tours route. As there were only going to be two cars, they weren't able to offer the trip bespoke to us. They did however get us a good discount on the ferries.

We started in the North so not quite what you are looking for but may be helpful.

Our route was:
Belfast - Hilton Templepatrick, Paradise Walk, Castle Upton Estate, Templepatrick BT39 0DD 028 9508 2000

Causeway - Magherabuoy House Hotel 41 Magheraboy Road, Portrush, Co. Antrim. BT56 8NX 028 70823507

Donegal - Sandhouse, Rossnowlagh Beach, Rossnowlagh, Co. Donegal. F94 X56F +353 71 98 51777

Westport - Westport Country Lodge Hotel Aughagower, Co. Mayo, Ireland, F28 P642 +353 98 56030

Galway - Ardilaun Hotel, Taylors Hill, Galway, H91 H29F, Ireland +353 91 521433

Killarney - Dromhall Hotel, Muckross Road, Killarney, Co. Kerry, V93 PY80 +353 64 663 9300

Cork - The Kingsley, Victoria Cross, Cork, T12 P680 +353 21 480 0500

Waterford - Faithlegg Hotel, Faithlegg, Co.Waterford +353 51 382000

If you've got the time, road not to be missed driving is the Healy Pass:

Fantastic drive.

If staying in Cork, may I suggest Hayfield Manor.

A magical experience. Stayed there many times and always loved it. Breakfasts to die for!

No itinery but a few photos here of a trip taken in 2017.

Delightful so it was. My suggestion would be to study some maps of the area and seek out the sort of things that are of most interest to yourself. Make it a voyage of discovery.

SFG,
I live just 40 mins from Rosslare port - if you are planning to either come or depart by Rosslare, give me a shout before you travel and I’d be glad to meet and discuss your route- our coffee pot is in constant use! My contact details and phone are in my profile

Cheers

We have a road trip booked around the South in May - we're sure to add Healy Pass to our itinerary. Thanks Docock!

Don't miss Blarney Castle. The Blarney Stone, is a tourist thing which just goes to prove that kissing it actually works laugh
The view from the top of the tower makes it worth the effort. For me the main attraction was the gardens. Allow at least 3 or 4 hours for the visit.

The Ring of Kerry was a bit of a disappointment, but then it was a rainy day 🌧. Perhaps better done in 2 days with some side trips.

Galway was great, especially the seafood šŸ˜‹

Don't miss a guided tour of Dublin Castle. Very interesting and informative from a historical perspective. The crypt of Christ Church Cathedral is worth a visit too.

Just remembered - we were advised that it is best to drive the Ring of Kerry the same way round as all the coaches go - otherwise you are in for a very frustrating day.

Also, don't miss the Kerry Cliffs.
