MSCC now recommends Peter James Insurance with "exclusive benefits". They've dropped Headley, Gott etc as "partners"
Just got my quote from G&W. Pretty much the same as last year. £383.
Out of curiosity, rang Peter James: They came up with a fantastic quote of £683 for pretty much the same benefits/exclusions as G&W.

The exclusive benefit is that you get to pay much more than if you stick with the traditional brokers, I suppose. When I heard all the kerfuffle about Headley I was all geared up to switch to G&W, but Headley kept my premium the same for 2022 to 2023 and for the current (23 to 24) renewal it's gone up by £25 to £316.

It would be interesting to know the background as to why G&W have been dropped, IMHO they were the only original Morgan specialist insurer left, most of the others are just subbies of larger corporate groups

As an MSCC Centre Sec this is one of those where MSCC surprise us as much as you; we knew a few weeks earlier. But in fairness they should be looking for good deals for members. If it is a good deal I don't know yet as I renew in the Autumn.
If the numbers really don't stack then please do me a favour & give your feedback to Jann the Vice Chair so MSCCcan have that conversation with Peter James.
I have had Peter Best (+4 to Roadster in I guess 2004 c £160 to £750 so enter Headley) & Headley year on year (2019 £300 to £450) give big jumps I know not why but I must say G&W have been consitent & good given inflationary pressures etc.
I have never used Peter James but will benchmark them as you do when the quote time comes around.

Sadly, it’s a bit like when Scenic Tours took over the travel, prices went skywards, but MSCC get a payoff from the deals to pacify us all. We pays our money and take our choices.

I was with Peter Best for years because they did the best policies for the MGBGTV8 (by miles).
So when I got my Roadster I just continued with Peter Best another year, and they were MSCC Approved. But at the Mog Event that year, I chatted to the G&W guys and they were significantly cheaper. I've been with them ever since.

MSCC make no money from S&C. So where does the “Travel Club Commission” that appears in the accounts each year, come from?

Perhaps one of the group leaders should ask the question at the next National committee meeting? I've used Gott & Wynne for many years, best prices, had a couple of claims, 5***** service and you speak to someone who knows Morgans when you ring up, recommended!. Barry Wynne a long term +8 owner. As for SCCT, been with them a few times and had problems or been ripped off on each occasion so I don't participate in any of their promoted events anymore.

Confusingly there is Peter Best who were a Morgan Approved broker and now we have this new company Peter James. Expect they are completely different businesses.
The fact a MSCC member can drive another members car is a great benefit would be interesting to see the small print… wonder if it includes family members cars..
