Every other year G&W ask for a valuation for the agreed value cover, BHM know my car well as they do the service, MOT and any repairs so they just email G&W, no charge. They value it based on the price to replace with a similar car, otherwise the insurers are likely to offer significantly less.

I switched to Gott & Wynn last year after Headley were swallowed up by Finch. Very good to deal with, as were Headley back in the day.

Mine is due early May. Thought I'd try Peter James for a quote. 5 year no claims on my 2019 P4, one small claim 2 yrs ago on my tin top (my fault), stored on drive, no points on licence, value £42k, 61 yrs old and semi-retired. The quote was £840 for up to 6k miles, £815 up to 3k miles. Doesn't feel very competitive but yet to get my renewal quote from Finch...

I'll just chuck this one in too...

Last year the TinTop renewal was a rip off, so onto the comparison sites, same issue (Cartel anyone ?) lightbulb moment to try G&W, wow ! beat the rest with more favourable T&C's too thumbs

Having been with G&W for many years with trouble free service I moved to a house with a steep drive that scraped the exhaust so had a side exit fitted.
declared this to G&W who updated details without charge or increasing premium. can't ask for a better service than that.

I remember reading of a Morgan owner who had to put a lot of time and effort into holding on to his Morgan and having it repaired instead of allowing it to be written off as the result of what appeared to be a "system" of claims handling designed to prioritise the efficiency of the insurance business, as opposed to looking after a classic car club member and Morgan enthusiast as the brokerage had advertised..! The brokerage as best I can remember one that was club preferred and taken over by others a while back...

I have been with G&W since I bought my Morgan in 2002 and found them efficient to the extent I saw no need to shop around... The big test is ever related to making a claim, and very fortunately for me, that situation has not occurred to date, nor in all the time I have spent on Morgan related forums have I read any comments that might cause me to loose faith in G&W.

As for who how and when a club might prioritise another insurer...? I guess clubs became forced to operate as businesses in time, and business is business.. is it not..?

Well not surprised after my renewal arrived, I phone Peter Best, and after been on the phone for sometime, they asked me what my renewal was (Finch), I told them and straight away I got told that there was no way that they could come near my renewal, and quoted me £620. 2007 3.0 roadster with 6000 mile
I kindly declined.
Will check with G&W next.

Finch (like others) will leave it to the very last minute to try and catch you.

Not enough time
Too much hassle
etc

Phone in advance and ask them as it often puts them on the back foot.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
