I'm toying with idea of buying a 2023 Plus 6. I have read about the ongoing issues with CX-generation radiators, brakes and wipers and I was wondering if any of the problems were resolved when the 2023 models were released. All of the posts that I have seen in the CX forum are from owners who have had issues with their cars, but there must be some who have had trouble free motoring, surely. For those that have a 2023 Plus 6, are you happy with your purchase? Is the top better or worse than previous generations in wet weather?
I eagerly await your comments!

Welcome to the forum, Plus 4 Guy. Like you, I'm very curious about all the answers. I think you have made one thing very clear. The people who didn't or don't have any problems are the ones who don't usually speak up in forums. It would be very interesting to see how high the proportion of those who don't actually have any issues is. You always have to allow for minor faults with a Morgan. But seeing your name, I think you're familiar with your current Morgan, as we all are, so these possible things don't really detract from the fun.

Fair point Heinz, this of course assumes that the Morgan forum membership is reflective of the wider population of Morgan CX ownership.
Maybe its just me, but there do seem to be more especially CX Morgans and trads for sale than I've seen in a long time, it maybe reflective of the current economic climate and/ or maybe a shift in peoples priorities. There has been much research on people's changing habits and increasingly it seems people are looking for experiences rather than possessions.
It would be interesting to see the shift in how CX Morgans are financed these days compared with the past and whether PCP etc with 2/3 year terms are releasing more cars at the end of the contract, whereas in the past trad Morgans at a lower price point may have been owned outright and not financed, often in the past seen as an appreciating asset and a good place for your pension pot.

I am one of the forum members that have posted issues we have seen with our car ( mid 2020 model ) this was undertaken to make other owners aware and also hopefully list what was done to fix the problems, so I can not comment on a 2023 model. What I can say is the failing parts of our Plus Six that were replaced with later revision parts seem to be better manufactured. So I think Morgan is learning from the ealier models and their issues, even if they are not broadcasting this.. We hope we have reached a point with our Plus Six where it is now reliable enough to tour Europe.
If I was now in the market for a Plus Six I would put together a check list from all the points raised on this forum, I would want a very close inspection of the car together with a long test period and I would use the check list as a memory aid to look at the car. As the car would be " pre loved" in one form or another, I would be looking at condition/specification vs price. Some of the Plus Six add ons are quite expensive. There is choice of cars available now, so shop wisely. Lastly, the Plus Six when sorted is a delight to drive. Dave

I have a very late 2022 PlusFour, purchased new in late March 2023 and have had no problems with it till date whatsoever. Now I feel superstitious writing this down. I have had the mounting brackets of the luggage rack SS welded, but that was a precaution because some other owners had broken mounts. And, now I think, as everybody with the present fuel caps, I had problems with opening it and it was sorted out by MorganPark Hamburg while traveling to Denmark last year. but that is not CX-specific. The hood is very good, almost watertight. Wipers no problems, I have the new wipers, so not the flat ones, these really wipe....! Fingers crossed, I hope it stays this way, we have two large tours to come, to Tuscany from Holland and oner month later the Alpenstrasse...., together with one other CX (2021 PlusSix) and 2 Trads, Plus 8 and Roadster. Yesterday was a sunny and warm day in Holland and we made a tour in our 1990 4/4 4-seater which we still have. Now I know what I like of the 4/4 and of the PlusFour. The 4/4 has a harsh ride, especially on cobblestones all the dash mounts are falling off, but you don't have to bother about speed bumps, you feel them but you have enough ground clearance. One month ago I drove partly there same traject in the PlusFour, with a far smoother ride, that is a huge difference, but the speed bumps were annoying because you had to take them slowly and sometimes diagonal, it is hard not to touch the exhaust...! And a complete different seating position in the 4/4, shoulder to shoulder a far more in from. In the CX you sit more comfortable to the back, with less room for your arm at the doorsite, with the widescreens on. But the PlusSix should have more room there. For touring long distances, the PlusFour is far more suitable! Some pictures from yesterday and a comparison with the same driver (my eldest son) in 2 Morgans, you see MorganPark treating my filler cap in the last picture, no problems since! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_4004.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_8668.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_8660.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_8670.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_8694.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/04/08/IMG_4143.jpeg)

I have an MY23 PlusFour bought new in July 2023. No problems with any of the early model version issues. Two things sorted by the dealer under warranty. New pcb that manages the speed/revs/fuel gauges as the old one failed leaving just the square screen workingok so actual speed and warning lights available. Just a couple of days for the dealer to diagnose and get the new pcb from MMC. A niggle with the fuel filler cap,,,, awkward to remove/refit. Dealer did a quick fix and now perfect. The fix....a very small ( I mean very ) rounding off of a sharp corner of the plastic inner part so it now releases and relocates perfectly easily. Wipers can sometimes judder a bit but getting less. Fuel gauge and range.... confusion about usable fuel range due to tank design means most people use 250 miles as a trigger to fill up. My dealer reckons there is about 70 miles range left when the fuel warning light comes on. I haven't tested that! Never been a problem on long runs though. No problems with luggage rack mounts sofar ( tempting fate ? ) A negative ( minor only so apologies) is the positioning of the usb sockets in the rear of the glovebox. Satnav/phone connection still possible but I’d prefer them accessible on the dash/console. Storage for the jack/tyre goo would be better than on the rear shelf or floor behind the seats. I don’t have the accessory option of the rear shelf storage extra. I like the car. Auto version but manual modes if needed. I’m not missing a manual gear change. Paddles are there to use if wanted. The Plus Four has 250 bhp with8 speed gearbox. You can pootle about or release the “scalded cat” and boy does she go! Last September I got 50+ mpg on a couple of days touring Scotland. Just spotted your question about rain leaks....none found. One thing to remember when raising/lowering the hood or lifting the rear to access the shelf... un clip the tenax clips on the lower corner near the rear of the door. Get a routine of doing that as first or last action. If not the tenax pins can be snapped due to tension. One of mine did ( silly mistake) so I replaced it with a different pin unit. A two screw version meaning no need to extract the old snapped off one. Careful drilling needed but a simpler solution.

I've had very few problems with my Plus 4. I have been very happy with it over the years, but, like myself, it's showing its age, so I thought it time to make the jump to something newer. I suppose writing a post about a Morgan with no problems may come across as fictitious or bragging 🤪. Answering a question about reliability and build quality may be perceived a little differently.

Great to hear that you haven't experienced any of the issues that other CX owners have. Hopefully, this is because the problems were resolved in the later models. I am relieved to hear that the hood is almost watertight because my wife gets really stressed when it clouds over, which is very often here in the UK. Watertight and more comfortable over long distances will certainly help to justify the purchase to her (she would sooner spend the money on our house and/or more holidays). 😀 Thank you for posting the photos. The weather looks great! You are very lucky to have the use of two Morgans and it's a real treat being able to share your passion for Morgans with your son. Long may it continue. Enjoy your road trips. They sound fabulous.

The fault numbers and type that you have experienced sound typical of what you would expect from a new Morgan. The fuel gauge and filler cap issues have been ongoing for many years. I don't trust my fuel gauge. I keep the car topped up with fuel at all times. You would think that they would have been sorted by now. Great tip on the hood studs. I must remember that, should I have issues in the future.
