Hi All

Just noticed a leak at the rear offside of the car. It smells like petrol so I will open the rear up tomorrow to see if I can find where it’s coming from, in the mean time is there a schematic anywhere of the fuel system that I can access.

Thanks

The M3W parts book shows the fuel system parts, available to view on the MTWC website

Fuel tanks have been known to crack especially around the front mounting bracket, to see a leak here you will need to take the seats and rear panel out. Also fuel sender and fuel pump gaskets have leaked but you would only notice this if the tanks are full.

Simple checks are the fuel connectors and also the fuel pump gasket under the retaining ring that holds the pump in place.

Tanks crack at mounting plates and also along the welded seams.

Some owners have had tanks replaced FOC at MMC - enquire with the service department once you know the cause.

Thanks to all who helped with this problem. It turned out to be a gasket from the fuel sender. The making a new tank may be something for the future as in a recent discussion with the boss, she agreed that we should never get rid of the joy the M3W gives us. So it’s staying never to be sold and as age and infirmity creep on, a 4 wheeler with doors will also be required and a”Morgan Lift” designed to get us in and out the M3W!!
