Hello everyone.
Our +4 was fitted with an easy-up hood, which entailed reversing the windscreen frame, so the old hood studs faced aft instead of forwards. Then they were removed and the holes brazed up. There was no time to do anything else at the time. We have covered the aft end of the frame with black tape and it worked OK until now, but we want to re-chrome the whole frame.
The option is to buy a new frame, remove the studs, and fit small plugs to the holes (facing aft as now).
Does anyone have experience of this, and what is the best way of sealing the windscreen in the frame afterwards?

I have a spare windscreen and assembly from a 2005 car. Designed for the factory easy up. Don't know if it would fit an earlier car...?

If you re-chrome the existing frame at least you will know everything will fit

Yes Jon, I am thinking much the same. There is a good chrome shop in Sydney. Also to keep the vehicle as original as possible.

I have a smooth 2 seater windscreen frame that I fit on my Easy~fit~hood conversion. Not sure how much to send to you though.

Thanks Steve, but after further thought I will have mine re-chromed. They can fill the small imperfections with brazing and based on other work they have done it will turn out well.
