Stumog should be ok with 141 posts 🙂
Good luck with the pic posting ... it seems a tedious process (possibly a good thing as we seem less plagued with spam postings than other forums) .....But once you've done it a few times it gets to be second nature and takes no time at all.

Not really practical. You need to upload your picture to a third party picture hosting site, assuming you don't have a web based image link already. This should allow you to then obtain a picture link to it which can be displayed in a post here by then inserting it between image tags. Instructions are available here on using one such hosting site specific to TM although there are others including the one I prefer to use Imgur.

An important note: If you use an image stored on an image hosting service you must use a direct URLfor the image, not embed codes. You can not currently use an image with a .jpeg extension because the forum software does not recognise the 4 letter extension even though the image format is the same as .jpg. Your image must be .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF and cannot exceed 100x100 pixels.
The tm-img.com hosting service used by many members of the forum currently converts all .jpg extensions to .jpeg which presents a problem only for the use of images for an avatar, but is not a problem for images embedded using BBCode embedding tags.
For the time being new avatars stored on tm-img.com should be converted to .png or .gif using image editing software before uploading. Images uploaded to tm-img.com before January 2023 are not affected.
The TM Image Library tm-img.com is not part of the Talk Morgan forum but was set up by members for the use of Talk Morgan forum members following a debacle with a then popular image hosting site.

Using the free Imgur account at least, the embed code can be pasted directly into a TM post as the image tags are conveniently already present. You simply copy the BBCode link as shown below, similar to tm-img. ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/VhjjOc5.png) No issues with .jpg image suffix being changed to .jpeg either which causes issues on TM for avatar links. On that subject whilst there is a warning to limit image size to 100 x 100 pixels exclusively for avatar image use, in practice there is no such limit, not to say discretion on picture size shouldn't be used.

Richard My response above refered specifically to the question of using an image as an avatar in TalkMorgan. It seems that the UBB.threads forum software somehow handles the avatar image and even if it is loaded from another web url it still requires a .jpg extension if it is a JPEG type image. Actually the image that you used as an example is a different type and is a .png image [img]http://i.imgur.com/VhjjOc5.png[/img] Regarding inserting images in the body of a post, as you quite rightly say "You simply copy the BBCode link" and insert it in your post. As a strange curiousity the Imgur site seems to handle both extensions for the one image. Your avatar can be viewed both as https://i.imgur.com/GyNGwRn.jpg and https://i.imgur.com/GyNGwRn.jpegI will mention this to our software developer and see what his response is.

Thanks for that. Regarding image extensions a useful tip that usually works: Many web page images use the .webp extension now, changing this to a forum acceptable .jpg allows it to be displayed here in a post.

The TM Image Library tm-img.com is not part of the Talk Morgan forum but was set up by members for the use of Talk Morgan forum members following a debacle with a then popular image hosting site. Update. tm-img.com uses the Chevereto image hosting software. Some months ago the developer decided that all images with the .JPG extension should be converted to the .JPEG extension. The two types are identical and it is only the naming convention for the extension that differs. This caused problems for some sites, including those running on UBB.threads as used by Talk Morgan. It did not cause a problem with embedded images but did cause a problem for images used for an avatar on UBB.threads (Talk Morgan) which must be must be .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF Following my request the developer has now modified the software so that .JPG files uploaded to tm-img.com now retain the original extension. If you have a file that uses the .JPEG extension (some cameras and Apple), and you want to use it as an avatar, simply change the extension to .JPG This is not necessary if the image is the be embedded in a post. Contact me for any further clarification.
