Unlike the myriad of possibilities for electrical issues on modern machinery, MGB and others of the era are repairable using basic kit, and in some cases costing no more than a few bob, if we are tallking replacing carbon brushes or stripping and cleaning solenoid contacts, all of which is so very different from the potential costs of modern machinery repairs, which it seems can take numerous trips back and forth before the dealership might manage to resolve the issue on something as complex as brake lights.. Hmm...!
Yeah just living up to my chosen forum I.D.... again..(-: Agreed - although I've gone for the easier option - undo two bolts, take duff one out, stick new one in. Only £75 incl delivery.....

Oh yes. After 16 days cruising down the Danube from Budapest to the Black Sea & back the difference to a stately 15 knots was stunning. Grintastic!! The Danube rose dramatically whilst we were on the cruise on day 1 the banks are clear at Budapest . ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/06/09/20240524_162514.jpg) on the last the river is broaching the embankment. By the time we left if was flooding the lower embankment path & our boat was told they couldn't sail up river for at least 2 days as Austria has stopped all navigation. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/06/09/20240606_203106-small.jpg) I feel sorry for the people on the Danube as I understood Linz is already flooded.

So covered 1950 miles in the last 2 weeks in the +8. Eight days in Wales: Llangollen, Anglesey, Conway criss-crossing the Snowdonia NP several times on the narrow tracks. And then 6 days in Brittany at St Goueno a lovely village, and home to one round of the French National Hill Climb Championship. 180 cars, everything from Simca Rallye 2, Megane RS, Exiges, Alpines, GT3s to Lola and Dallara single seaters. €15 entry for the weekend, a beaker of wine €1 or €2 for beer. What's not to like.

A few of the UK Hillclimb lads used to make the trip to St Goueno ... they said it was a friendly track and they were quite tolerant of the differences in spec between the UK and Continental cars ... chance to run a longer European course rather than our short, sharp and narrow ones... not sure if they still do?

Early morning motorway blast (very boring) to FJ Coffee and Chrome at the Chateau Impney. Queued for 45 minutes to get in, and then left straight away. Far too busy for me, and had only intended to stay an hour or so, as was due at my parents for lunch and fitting some grab handles in the toilet and bedroom to help Dad get up and down.....
Lovely back road drive home though.......

Yes, out to a local farm to get fresh eggs, but yesterday was a big British Car get together in Bristol, RI, where we took home First Place in the Morgan class. Parking Agroturismo Son Penyaflor is the furthest you want to drive with a Sliding Pillar front suspension - the road gets really bad afterwards. Hiking up took about 90min and was really enjoyable. The Ma-2100 to Orient afterwards was amazing - lots of curves and very narrow - but doable with the small 4/4

Last Thursday, so not today, had a three hour drive back home from Castelnau d'Auzan where my car had been in the hands of Andreas at the Garage Andreas ( see Google ) .A great chap who basically went through the Roadster with a fine tooth comb. For any one who is in that area, I thoroughly recommend him.
