Rear N/S indicator suddenly stoped working at the end of a short run. On investigation it seems that the small orange gasket/ contact behind the bulb has lost the small metal contact . Any remedy short of buying a new light unit for mega bucks.

Pull the wire back through and solder a small washer on the end (some forceps to hold it are helpful) you may then need to make a little insulating ring which is usually the collapsed bit

If that doesn't work a complete unit is not that expensive as it's a standard Lucas item. Holden have them here

Fiddling about last night, now nothing works.checked all the 7.5 amp fuses all ok. Could it be the relay, if so where are they?

The original rubber hoses to the windscreen washers are of poor quality. If you have used anti-freeze windscreen washer fluid, they may have disintegrated and caused a leak onto the PCB behind the dash.

Be useful to expand on “nothing works”

The indicator circuit is protected by a 15 amp fuse 10. It also covers headlamp flash. Could it be that your repair has created a short and blown it?

The indicator flasher relays for individual indicators and hazard lights are embedded in a PCB module behind the dash. If however as your first post suggests, it was only the rear n/s indication that failed and you found fault with the bulb connection then unlikely to be the relay.
