Just my local Howells...they used to be called A Plan. They're getting into classic cars. My local one is on 01420 543543 Nick Do you mean "Howden" rather than Howells?

Despite my initial disconnect ( https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthrea...pproved-insurance-peter-james#Post798342) in the end, the quote from Peter James for my 3 Morgans combined was a very competitive £365. Quotes from elsewhere ranged from £430 to £635 for similar levels of cover.

Tried for a quote from the PJ/MSCC insurance link up.. After taking all the details they decided they would not quote. I wont go into details online but it was a barking mad reply from them.. I had the feeling that they just did not want to bother with a CX model Morgan due to its value.. So I am staying with my present insurer.. I have let the MSCC know the details.

Same reply I had from them years ago, beats me why MSCC recommends them or why they bother taking the Ad.

Just had a quote of £ 544.01 from Peter James. Current quote from Finch is £412.57 which includes our £20 renewal fee, £65.02 breakdown and £30 legal expenses. This is up from £355.50 last year.
Next call G&W.

I recently had a renewal notification from my previously 'preferred' MSCC insurer which had increased by about £30.00 from last year. As an MSCC member, I contacted Peter James, detailing the cover required including 5,000 miles annual limit. Seems they only offer 3,000, 6,000 or unlimited miles, but otherwise simiar cover. Result? £385.10 from my current provider, £534.72 from Peter James! I have made both MSCC & Peter James aware of the price difference in percentage terms. I also made MSCC aware that I was not happy with the way the club had taken away the choice for members, (paricularly new members) to obtain competitive prices from 'specialist' Morgan insurers by not allowing them to advertise in Miscellany. I have received a very long & detailed reply from MSCC, obviously defending their decision to enter into this 3 year agreement with Peter James. I won't go into the details of their response here. I haven't received a reply from PJ & needless to say I have renewed my policy with my existing insurer.

Why not tell us the details? It's hard to imagine what sort of justification they can offer for this act of blatantly not looking after their members' interests...

Why not tell us the details? It's hard to imagine what sort of justification they can offer for this act of blatantly not looking after their members' interests... Agreed, I'd like to see what the MSCC's stance is on this policy of only one approved Co I was told by an official that it is a three year contract and it is standard commercial practice with such a partnership, to exclude other providers for exclusivity. Other companies are welcome to bid for the contract in 3 years time. BUT, the bit that got to me was “the funding that this company have guaranteed to MSCC made it a no-brainer.” So the obvious question is: Where is that generous funding going to come from? (answers on the back of a postage stamp please!) My conclusion is that MSCC have lost their way on this and aren't really representing members’ interests as a whole. I fear that it will only encourage the other companies to raise their rates towards the “approved” companies rates and the whole Morgan community could end up paying more in years to come. For this reason, despite being very active in my local centre both on committee and attending events over the past 13 years, I have not renewed my membership with MSCC.
