Agreed Ruut, the game has changed a lot in just the last three years I think. My SFO story was about 2001. There are many things wrapped up in one discussion. If we had replaced Maria's Mini R56 it would likely have been a BEV of some sort, possibly a new Mini-E of some sort.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

We absolutely love our Cooper SE, we don't find the 100-140 mile range an issue at all. Well built, absolutely reliable, dirt cheap to run (2p/mile), all the necessary bells and whistles. The new models are supposed to offer a longer range, but TBH I think they are nowhere near as good-looking as ours. 'Er Indoors keeps mentioning how much she likes the VW ID.Buzz. If they. weren't so pricey I think we'd go for one.
