Morning everyone! (well it is for me here in Canada)
Thank you all very much for your input and knowledge, you ask some good questions and I should have given you more information when I started this thread (sorry) so here goes.
Over the years I have restored end to end three Morgans including paint, so I know my way around them, and yes I have two post hoist and the room. And yes I watched that Wheeler Dealers video (again) last night. And yes, they do make it look so easy! I don't mind the work, I love it, the bigger project the happier I am.
My buddy wants to do a full chassis/drive train restoration/rebuild, nothing (surprisingly) needs to be done to the body on his '72 +8. My hope was to lift the entire body off (no rad cowl or bonnet of course), store it, rebuild the chassis/drive train then "drop" the body back on.
I'd like to ask why it is not possible to lift the body with the front wings attached, what is stopping it? Is there something in the way that can not be removed (steering column?) or is it supporting the front wings so the body does not flex more than it should?
Thanks!
Pat
