Does anyone know how to adjust the clock? Having disconnected the battery it is now “stuck” on 12:00.

Press and hold the button on the end of the indicator stalk until the hours flash. Then short presses to cycle through the hours until correct.
Release button for a second or so then long press to select minutes. Cycle through until correct then release button followed by long press to exit setting mode.

Am I wrong in asking…Doesn’t the clock need resetting every time you start the M3W? My Brooklands edition (2014) requires it.

Providing the battery has not been disconnected the clock should retain its settings.

It sounds like the factory or a PO has inadvertently connected clock to ignition controlled feed. I would suspect the latter if you haven't owned the car from new, since the main loom provides a keep alive feed for clock.

I know it's not an answer to the question posed, but I've one of these little CHAPS fitted. Wouldn't be without it now.

Oxford clock was my solution, its stick on but can fall off occasionally without harming the leather.
