My daughter and I had a lovely day yesterday, although we ended up thoroughly drenched! The forecast that the rain would move north by mid-morning turned out to be wildly inaccurate, sadly. Not a "vintage" year but enjoyable anyway. We managed to get around most of the site and saw one practice session. I shall watch the weekend racing on the live stream.

Good luck to those there today and tomorrow, the weather forecast doesn't look too promising so fingers crossed it will be just as wrong as yesterday! smile

JEEZ, just watching the highlights ... Some heart in mouth moments there for me, and I am sitting in the comfort of my armchair...!!!!

I think it is just fantastic that the owners of these machines are prepared to use them as they (or their drivers) do... Wonderful stuff.

As a one time m/cyclist.... Well what can I type... I can almost smell the Castrol R while listening to those old singles... Sigh!

While I am very sorry to see the precipitation for those attending, the rain introduces so much excitement and creates quite a bit more appreciation for the skills of the riders and drivers...?,

Just back from Fridays revival meeting.. just drying out...
Took the following of Charles Morgan and the Plus 4 just before they left the pits for Fridays Fordwater Trophy practice.. Was going to have a chat with him, but it was too close to the practice session.. The Techs had been slapping on the rainX on the screen inside and out!.. It was needed.

I think fxo has quite a history, shipped out to africa and returning to the Uk some years later. As with all these cars seem to remember some palava with the reg and chasis matching up. Notice the big electric fan and large oil cooler under the grill 150 to 160bhp perhaps.

The weather just isn't going to give up ... however, it dried enough for an outstanding TT race ... real nail-biter with theTVR just pipping the Cobra in the final seconds! ... entire weekend and all the rain worth it for that one race! ... proper racing! 🙂

Just in the door ... 215 miles today up from Melrose in the Borders ... day plagued by heavy showers and some Polar-Plume thing that added nippiness to the mix so a hood-up day (had plenty of open-top miles in the last 11 days) .... 1503 miles clicked up on the odometer as we stopped (Home-Goodwood-Factory-Home.).. decent run ... never missed a beat loaded with camping gear and luggage for two weeks. Mrs Image decided it needed a commemorative picture! 😆

PS ... only thing was a hazard warning switch that disintegrated inside .. gave odd and ever-changing faults with the indicators over a period of days as more and more of it floated about inside that had me scratching my head ... finally diagnosed and 'bush-fixed' in the Hotel car-park in Malvern ... fix worked fine all the way home (glad I stuck my multimeter under the seat now 🙂)
