I loved my old Jag when I had a proper job - an X300 Sovereign LWB. Effortless to drive, stupidly quick for an old barge, and enough room in the back to sleep.

Probably worth about £30 now smile

DaveW ... Agree ... but that was the staid old 'missionary position' Jag 😆.... the new one looks to be positioning itself into Roller/Bentley territory with a technicolour gender-fluid image to tempt the Rapperati and over-monied happy to shell out to be on the right side of the image divide.

The three of them will always just like Morgan’s be viewed as old mens cars - the only break and good part was when Austin Powers interjected some humour by calling them “Shaguars” 😂

Blimey Dave a whiff of Arthur Daley. That's Sexist Ageist anti Camel and youv'e probably upset quite a few trilby wearer's on here. And old spice was ok back in the day. The new strapline after the new Jag add should read, The world is your lobster. Em

My brother had one of those. He loved it....... until he found himself in a multistorey carpark unable to get it round the tight exit route without reversing on each turn whereupon he became very unpopular with the cars behind..... smile

You only have to watch some of the video clips/reels from middle eastern car dealerships, that show all sorts of customisation of cars like Rolls Royce, where often the exhaust sound may influence the buying decision. The Rolls Royce and Bentley clientele has without question moved on.

The answer going forward for Jaguar maybe exclusivity , lower number of units sold at higher price point.

Volkswagen knew what the implications of transferring production to China meant, I was involved in the early negotiations and feasibility study and implementation plan for Total to open up petrol service stations in China and what self serving conditions China placed upon them.

Not used to forums so don’t know how to highlight a comment from someone or reply direct.

Just found this interesting from a personal perspective as spent 15 years in the oil/petrol industry in several roles including buying petrol stations. Until the ‘wholesale’ closure of stations over recent years & the joy of sat nav I used to direct people by petrol stations - left at the Regent Morgan garage, right at Gulf, straight on at Fina, bear left at Heron and at the junction where the Elf garage is etc etc - None of these brands left and so few sites these days I have given that method up …….God help us if we ever have a petrol shortage again .Do we have enough refinery capacity to be self sufficient even with North Sea swaps Thankfully we have EVs ! MM
PS I always fully fill up and rarely go below a third of a tank, just a state of mind.
