I’ve taken to doing the same *whenever* the car is parked with the hood up, even if only for a short period. This helps mitigate the risk of lowering the hood or opening the rear to access the parcel shelf but forgetting to release the Tenax first.

I’m also going to a put cable tie or some other tactile physical tell-tale on the internal handle that opens the rear access to the parcel shelf. Perhaps that will remind me not to pull it without releasing the Tenax first (again!!)

The other thing I’m going to experiment with is not attaching the Tenax at all for driving with the hood down, but securing them with a couple of my daughters’ hair bands around the Tenax “mushroom head” to the inside of the roof frame hinge (there is a conveniently placed dome head nut inside). It will be interesting to see if this set-up provides enough wind and weather proofing whilst driving.

Correction … I meant to say “for driving with the hood *up*” but can’t see a way of editing my post.

With the hood down, you can fasten the Tenax "Mushroom" on the frame. Easy and safe, I don't see the problem....!?? With the hood up, well that's the different story, first loosen, at the end fasten...! I thought I did that always, but in september I had a broken Tenax nipple, still I am convinced I did everything in the right order. Well, it was replaced so now...🙏🏻🙏🏻

Yep ... that's exactly what I meant to say :-)

On my MY23 there is another nipple on the hood frame that you can attach the hood to with the hood down. This holds that corner down so it is secure and not flapping. I fold the hood then attach the renax button to this nipple.

Yep ... my '22 also has the same. This issue is more when the hood is up.

Is this body panel just wood or aluminium under the paint?

I did the @sospan fix today … quite straightforward in the event. I think the trauma of the nerves before taking drill to bodywork will hopefully prevent me forgetting to undo the fasteners in future!!
