We have visited the Heidelberg Christmas market twice, staying overnight and driving on to ski destinations . The town is fabulous in summer but takes on a special feeling during Christmas. The all year round Christmas shop is lovely. We have
Illuminated stars, tin and wooden festive decorations from the stalls - fond memories. Irrationally we probably would not visit a market specifically anymore even though you cannot live your life in fear or it’s no life.
It is all very sad and even if security was 100% re car access, someone with a knife or gun can walk in and cause mayhem
