It’s all about coping with breakdowns, whether it’s in the Lake District, the back of beyond in Spain, ascending Col du Tourmalet in France, the North Coast 500 in Scotland, the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, the Col de Bonaigua in Spain or rear suspension failure in Sweden returning from Nordkapp. Sheer folly to ask the factory for assistance with part numbers when in a country whose language you don’t speak when all you’re provided with are Morgan Part Numbers which are meaningless to someone trying to source a Ford part. Plenty of photos of the car on the back of a breakdown vehicle.

Apologies to those locations I haven’t mentioned.
Thumbs up to Morgan Rescue who have been terrific.

p.s. I am glad someone removed that vile negative post from earlier in the day from Ken.

My contribution is a valid response to the question posed. Years of experience have caused me to remove the rose tinted spectacles. When I reflect on my Ownership Experience I think of the numerous breakdowns I have endured on European adventures. Although the impact of these is mitigated when travelling in convoy it is particularly unpleasant when it happens whilst travelling solo, as happened to me when driving to Amalfi in 2018. Despite these travails, the mileage I have travelled is testament to my enthusiasm for driving the car and I have no thoughts of selling it.

A vile post is you referring to someone’s daughter as an ungrateful little cretin because she wasn’t happy that he had arrived in the Mog to collect her. Hypocrisy springs to mind.

For reference, I have not removed any posts from this thread or from any other thread - in fact, the last post that I can recall having to remove was 2021 and I only know that because it is in my holding area. Furthermore, no one has flagged up an issue with a post on this thread.

Yes I read too fast sometimes ;-)

And think too slowly, if at all.
Merry Christmas old boy rofl

Thankfully we are all entitled to an opinion and I won't share my view of your persona on here doh as it is a mostly polite area with the ODD exception.....

I always liked telling people the truth if confronted by a knob. I would say I’m hard of hearing but you seem to be hard of thinking ! It stumps or truly annoys …..a winner of a repost ?
Best to you all and don’t let differences of opinion boil over….. MM
PS If my wife gets stressed during the run up to Christmas ( not this year as away at likely new in laws - daughters wedding in summer was a fake wedding - don’t ask) I say to her……….”it’s just a Sunday roast with a cracker” . She then feels totally calm about it and in control !

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, other than spammers (prior to the new security settings), I have never had to ban anyone from using TM.

This, in my opinion, shows the character of the majority of users found in this community.

As I am sure no one wants a lump of coal in their virtual TM stocking, I too would ask that we treat each other with the kindness we would like reciprocated to ourselves.

I found the post that your referring to, it was in reply to me because my daughter wasn’t happy getting a lift in my Mog…..it’s the convertible thing she didn’t like with all her hair blowing in the wind.

+8Rich replied “Ungrateful little cretin, I'd have offered the other option Craig”

I missed this post at the time, but I’d appreciate if you refrained from insulating my family on here in the future.

Apologies Craig, no offence meant as I have said before our three young adults love the roof off Plus 8 experience so I was surprised at your daughters reaction.
It was a figure of speech only.

Dave Happy Boxing Day, I think another feature of the breed is that it fosters great levels of tolerance 🙏

I wrote an article for the local MG car club about the build of my Frontline based MGB. I feel the last sentence would also be relevant to the ownership experience of a Morgan. "It is a car you have to drive to get used to and learn to drive it. It is definitely more MGB than Mazda MX5 to drive, everything is brand new and feels brand new but also manages to feel old."

One other thought I had is I have met a lot of car enthusiasts during my time with the local MG car club. All own a MG of some kind and many own a few, some seem to stick to MG and others a mix of British cars, not many have a mix of cars from different countries but there are a couple of guys. I am ignoring the practical family, daily driver car.

Would you say the average Morgan owner only owns one fun car and that is it, or like the people I have met own a few cars? I know Dave W owns two but unless I am mistaken most on here seem to own one Morgan.
