The Memsahib has somehow broken the passenger door mechanism by trying to force it to get out of the car without realising it was locked. Has anyone here had the interior door card off? Before I brave the elements on my driveway to have a good look (no garage sadly) I’m wondering how easy it will be to access the mechanism and fix.

I have a couple of photos taken at the factory which you may find useful? The images show the door before the door card is fitted and if you look closely you can see holes where the doorcard is fixed.

Door Lock

Yes it is probably the plastic linkage. The door car is easy to take off (at least the lower half).
It is the white bit between the two rods from the handle to the door.




MY23 on have the rifle bolt opener which is different

Hi Dave, sorry to hear about the door handle.. if helpful I had a similar thing happen and did this fix a couple of years ago, which seems for have worked.

Incidentally, the underlying issue that was making my door tricky to open was that the door stay wasn’t quite in the right position, which caused door to jam when trying to open it (hence putting excess pressure on the mechanism); you can adjust the stay position using an Allen key.

Now - if you owned an elderly 4/4 like mine, door handles become less of an issue!
For a start, mine has no exterior door handles!

Bud after 4 trads I still try reaching in to open the door on the CX but they moved the lever

Trads can also be a little complicated!

Some weeks ago I had to enter my 4/4 by jumping over the door.
That looked just as elegant as getting out with the hood down.

The door lock was blocked.

MorganPark was helpfull as always. Thea only needet 2 minutes and a hammer

Sometimes my experience with Honda motorbikes is not helpful enough with Morgan cars.
