Often wondered this and just had samples of soft French cheeses - was going to Google it but I will ask your advice. Are you suppose to cut off and dispose of the rind or eat it?
Tend to do either depending if I can be bothered fiddling with the sticky stuff.

We eat it as we like the taste of the whole experience. I should add that we are totally addicted to Parmesan so it could explain a lot

The rind is great for adding to food whilst cooking. Soup, stew, sauces.

If you like it, eat it ! Bit of yeasty mold is good for you. Don’t eat wax, cloth or Richard’s Parmesan (too hard ) rinds. He must have good teeth …. Stop with the French stuff and enjoy some Baron Bigod, or Somerset blue Brie. I do like a bit of crumbly Lancashire with a fruit cake. MM PS Did enjoy buying at a great cheese shop in Stamford - Rennet & Rind - recently after a funeral ! Cheered us up and did nibble on the way back home.

Bit tricky as I’m in a French hotel and there’s a selection of cheese in the restaurant but not labelled. I did read the other day that they are partial to Shropshire Blue though.
I can just imagine the Maitre d’s face if I asked him for Brit cheeses.

Good to hear we export* a lovely (nearly added to my list) cheese to France .. Just enjoy the cheese and hope some of it is from goat milk …….and if you want to cheer the Maitre d up remind him that we in the U.K. retire much later than the French and you don’t support the new proposed ages in France. Your cheese plate will overflow MM PS * hope Brexit did not make it so difficult that it has to be smuggled . Have to admit that I know ‘someone’ who has smuggled frozen bacon on short flight trips………!!
