Yes we still do and they are both adults. Thankfully they both speak ‘properly’ but both have gone through the Like Stage .
Like, like.. We used to count them and then tell them how many times they had used like. We said it’s not like, it is, there is no need for like . It has worked thankfully.

PS I did both secondary modern ( unbelievably great school) and then Grammar ( prefect gowns) , so different but both exception in their day.

I detest "me and my XXXX went .... " and similar. Me never went but I did, and I was taught to always put the other person first. I wouldn't dare say "me and my wife", I know my place!

There was a team at work, and the manager was nice but quite dim. He had a habit in team meetings of saying a phrase repeatedly. The minutes of his meeting always had, at the bottom, "TFT xx". Eventually curiousity nailed him and he asked what the TFT xx meant. 'Oh that's the number of times you say "Thanks For That" John'.............................................................

I agree with could of and Hhhaitch. Gotten however is an old English word that just happens to have fallen into disuse in the UK.

I'm more concerned with peoples attitude. Give me a polite, kind and respectful person with a bad grip on language, over an idiot who speaks the Queens English.....

My father whilst doing his military service as an MP was a frequent driver of Montgomery when he was in Germany as the Deputy Chief Allied Commander of Europe apparently somewhere there's a picture of my father with Montgomery. Mind you when he wasn't driving Montgomery he was often doing motor vehicle convoy patrols/escorts on a motorcycle in the depths of German winters which he hated as he got so cold no matter how much gear you had on.. Just because you will know of this place back in Blackpool Sue's father and grandfather were boarders at Rossall, which was very unusual for Yorkshiremen to be educated in Lancashire bearing in mind the old rivalries.
