IMHO this is the smallest problem.

This one doesn’t leak.

Well it was made by the factory, with the car.
Seriously though, it does mean the car can be used in all weathers, & seasons.

It is indeed, the hardtops I have seen appear to have a pretty 'relaxed' fit around the doors, but this looks spot on.

Something has just occurred to me: my Simmonds soft top doesn't leak in the rain, but for winter use it would be nice if it was a bit more robust. Would it be at all feasible to make up a set of semi-stiff insulating panels which could line the inside to make it warmer and quieter?

That way you wouldn't have the problem of fit as they wouldn't have to be millimetre perfect, and they'd be a lot easier to store come the summer. Come the winter you just put the hood up and spend 20 minutes or whatever securing the panels in place, then take them out in spring to go back to having a proper convertible hood.

How to secure them to the inside of the hood though? A combination of velcro and a lightweight inner frame perhaps? Hmmm.

You could always buy a LM62, Melvyn still has a new one in stock.

Not sure if that one has a hardtop, there is one for sale somewhere without.

This was Sarah's Plus 4 at BHM a long time ago, and the fit is also perfect. Note the easy up header rail.

Last time I checked, he had two and one has a hardtop, the other does not. He has had them from new and, iirc, he had four to start. Considering they were released in 2022, they have been there for awhile and, based on MMC model year changes, a few revisions behind.

Nutley have a nice one with 400mls and hardtop - car green top white of course.

They are all Manual and the Automatic boxes are the better option tis said.
