2008 +4 has developed wood squeakes from an area to the right of the dash board. Around the area where the door and bulkhead meet, any ideas?

First check the bulkhead tape. Some were tacked into place and if a tack loosens it will creak in the frame. How do I know this? Also lubricate the tape with either Vaseline or Beeswax.

I rub the bonnet tapes with an old candle, less messy than Vaseline - mind you if we have a power cut...

Try lip salve in their neat little cylindrical dispensers.

1. Maybe try a run of 3 in 1 oil on the beading along full length of running board.
2. I once had a squeak which was the top of the steering cowl touching the under side of the dash. Just backing off the adjustable steering column by half a mm cured it.
3. Rather than grease bonnet tapes, which then makes a mess on your polishing cloths, I line the inside of the bonnet edge with the furry side of sticky back velcro tapes.

I like to keep my bonnet tape material clean too, anything applied that makes it wet or sticky attracts dirt and grit and wears the bonnet paint. I used to use candle wax, only takes a small rub on each section but now i line the inside surface of the bonnet front and rear with PTFE tape, works really well and everything is dry and clean!
