I think that the days of 'hand built' went some years ago. It's very much 'hand assembled' nowadays.
I can't imagine that there's much scope for artisan flair in the construction process today, there has to be standardisation in the assembly process to do away with friday afternoon cars and variable build quality.
If the Italians are asking £100k+ for the plus six then, at that level, and with the expectations of the clientele, there is no room for the 'quality fluctuations' of a hand built Morgan........🤷🏻‍♂️

Thx Robbie. Hope this finds you well!

At Richard's suggestion I am reading a non-trad thread! For what that's worth laugh2

1. Do other of the CX cooling systems fail at the joints as well?

2. Am I correct in assuming that the same system design works for BMW but Morgan's copy of it is made in the UK by others?

3. Are the failed rads returned with the leaking joints rewelded?

mar 22 Plus Four in for service & a new windscreen (elements failing) .they've found a rad leak! this will be number 3. we're unsure as to whether rad 3 is the same as rad 2. (waiting for it to arrive). From memory rad 2 was fitted late 22 possibly early 23.
is there another version since then?
thankfully covered under warranty even tho' its expired & they wouldn't give me an extended warranty!

The last design has beefed up edges. Mine was fitted lasy year. But it is still the old supplier. Redesigned units from a different supplier were fitted from MY 24. I would ask for that upgrade as I think now you can get it done.

I would add I got 2 years warranty on the replacement

My Plus Six rad started leaking last September, two years out of warranty. after two visits to the local dealer, M.C.C agreed to the replacement, I collected the car this evening and was told it is the latest design radiator and software upgrade, looks good so far .

^ Hopefully a permanent cure Mike, sounds like the Factory have been very fair considering way past warranty (although latent defects can be legally claimed for 6 years)

Is the rad from the new supplier or the old one?
