Hi all, looking for advice on a good supplier of service items for my 1991 Plus 8.
Full service items and 2 track rod ends and some other bits and pieces.
I would like to find a company that charges realistic prices,
as there seems to be a big variation in what suppliers charge for the same items.
Plus I get hammered with Sterling to Euro exchange rates and ridiculous import
duties and carriage surcharge from our Post Service.(I'm in Southern Ireland)
Just a thought, is there a Morgan dealer in Northern Ireland? I cant seem to find one.

All the best,

Barry

If I am not mistaken, Kiwan's is no longer a Morgan dealer.

Earlier post on this from 2021

Thanks Sewin (a Salmon in Welsh I believe?), I thought they were no longer Morgan dealers, but will check them out.

Cheers, Barry

There is a firm in the Midlands that does track rod ends for classic Morgans, much much cheaper but the same quality as the ones for the dealers.

Only trouble is I can't remember their name.

Will go through my invoices tonight.

Thanks Arwyn, really appreciate. I thought the track rod ends from Morgan dealers seemed exorbitant.

Barry

Firm is called Amsteer, based in Tamworth.

They have a website but it is still under development so best off giving them a ring.

Track rod ends were £36 plus VAT and postage about this time last year!

I make it a policy to save as browser Bookmarks online suppliers of any outsourced item used on my car. I hate the thought of middle man markups when I can buy items closer to source at reasonable prices. Different matter for pure Morgan parts of course. I also often buy an extra replacement part to keep on the shelf knowing it's failed once and whilst I still can, especially since Classic production ceased.

On my 1985 +8 the track rods are from a rover/BL metro.

Close Barry! It' a Sea Trout although there are still a few oldies about that call them Salmon trout. Sea trout are only brown trout that migrate to the sea through lack of food in their native river so follow a similar life to salmon in that they return to breed.
