I'm sorry to hear this but pleased you seem to be making a reasonable recovery. You could write another book, that's not too strenuous, is it?

Thanks everyone. It just makes me realise that even with a level of fitness, you're not imune from strokes. I have to test my blood pressure twice a day for two weeks. This morning it's 107/60, pulse 53. What more can I do? The stroke ward was full of patients whose lives have changed. Just be aware that if it strikes, it's a long hard road ahead. Bob, my second book is with the publishers. No release date yet.

It's often a terrible and unexpected shock to the system and a worry for family and friends at the time, but thankfully caught early and hopefully no permanent damage done
I had a non stop nose bleed 4 years ago on Xmas eve, which lead to an emergency visit to the hospital, as a result of all the tests etc., they caught my excessively high blood pressure, which is now completely under control and normal thanks to a period of medication and changes in my lifestyle.

I count myself lucky, it was just a nose bleed but could have in time if left unaddressed been much more serious........best wishes for your full recovery and thanks to an excellent NHS when you need them the most.
