I'm searching for a replacement for my MGB which isn't going well. I've been looking for around a month but haven't found a suitable replacement. Values are definitely on the slide as completed sales show but many owners are still trying to sell overpriced rubbish and refusing to accept the reality of a falling market.
Ive noticed too older (perhaps less well looked after) Morgan prices are falling too. I've seen 3 early 80s cars for £10-14k.
Locally the story is particularly barren with nothing interesting listed on eBay, Facebook or the classic car websites within 100 miles. The few cars listed locally are all way above national prices and well below standard.
The situation is worsened by me not knowing want I fancy next - it'll be an opportunistic purchase.
What I need is a warm waterproof saloon, what I want is a sports car! Morris Minor or Tr6!
oh-hum, first world problems

I had a list of cars that I fancied before buying the MGBGT - in the end it was price that swung it for the MG.
Two contenders were the 2.0l Triumph Vitesse and the Reliant Scimitar. Ability to squeeze half decent performance out of them, but also sensible enough to use in all weathers and do the odd tip run.....

I always like browsing Vintage Petrol Pump Garage from time to time; mainly MGs for sale. I nearly bought an MGA from them a year or two ago, they used to advertise on Boom radio, but I haven't heard them do so recently; perhaps a sign of the times.

Another frustrating day featuring a Morris Traveller needing a full repaint and rewire that the owner had been told by his pal was worth £10k but had had on sale for 3 months! A nice Morris convertible that was rotten as a pear underneath and a shockingly poor TR4 for £14k.
Maybe I should just buy a Porsche!

The likes of Iconics, Collecting Cars and Car and Classic have had several very nice TR6's.
Massively underrated car. Prices seem pretty low even for decent ones. TRGB has a couple of decent ones.

Maybe I should just buy a Porsche! 914 2.0 would get my vote for the Grumpy treatment!
