I have another quote that would be suitable for this post, I don't know if it's of French origin, but it's quoted where I live 🧐 : "the less jam you have, the more you spread it (on the slice of bread)" 🥖

Not really following the markets currently but does this mean the value of M3Ws has dropped significantly or is this car a basket case needing lots of TLC? Normally markets for cars I buy always drop after I buy in but that is just sods law!
If you watch the various Mathewsons videos you will see that large parts on the "classic" car market is on the downward slope. Yeah, there are a few exceptions to that rule but prices are dropping.
I have been watch car and classic M3W sales for over 18months now. 6 Months ago you would have not seen any M3W for under £30k, now there are 11 https://www.carandclassic.com/search?country%5B0%5D=GB&make=morgan&min_year=2010&model=3-wheeler&sort=lowest-price&source=modal-age
There are also 16 at over £30k. The value is very dependent on the spec and modification history, particularly with early cars. The Matthewson's one was a very early example and almost certainly would need a range of upgrades to bring it up to a reasonable standard. These would easily cost in the region of £10k plus so a good basis but perhaps not quite the bargain it first appeared.
By the way, if you watch the follow up Mathewson's video where they are talking about it not making it's money due to missing out on the early chassis recall and free of charge replacement - there has never been a chassis recall for the M3W. For about 10 years MMC took a benevolent view on replacing chassis on early cars in the event of main tube cracking (which did not affect all cars). Last I heard they would make a substantial contribution to the cost but there can be a long lead time for a new chassis to be available.

I absolutely agree that spec and modification history effects the value of a car but 6 months ago even the 2012 models were £30k+ and the better cars were £40k+ Now there are only 3 M3W's at £40k, and you would have to be very extravigent to buy one of those when you compare what you can buy for far less.
In the end it is what the vehicles sold for not the advertised price or indeed the vehicles which haven't sold that determine the market value. As with everything for sale I love it when people say this is worth X because I put Y into it and others are on the market at this price, no it is only worth what people will pay for it, with things sitting and not moving proves the point.
