Very nice indeed! Are there any easy/aftermarket solutions for the GDI engine? If I'm right, the Ford cover is suitable for the earlier Duratec engine?

I used a fibreglass coil cover for a Caterham Duratec engine. On the Caterham site they are unbelievably expensive now but someone probably makes a knock-off.

Thanks for all the good comments & especially all the Links etc. I will be forming a shaped aluminium cover the same as DaveW did as a winter project BUT just for the next 2 months I copied what a few others have done & fitted a Ford Duratec plastic cover. Took a lot of “fettling” though 🙄

Thank you for sharing that SteveMerch -- the residual plastic indeed speaks to the amount of fettling required, but still it looks like it took a bit less wizardry than fabricating an aluminium one from scratch!

As I recently mentioned in another thread,I understand that while it is possible to install Focus covers on the older Duratec engines, these will not fit on the GDI models. Or does anyone have experience doing what SteveMerch did, but on a GDI +4?
