I recall spending hours in the original Trago Mills store when driving between Plymouth and Portsmouth around the millennium.

It's amazing what the old man did, he made a lot of household stuff attainable to normal Devon families, his son continues in that vain.

Interestingly he is a Fezza owner driver and occasionally his immaculate DeLorean can be seen in the car park.

So many Welsh coach trips requested a stop off in Newton that he opened a store in Merthyr

p.s. Our three youngsters loved a trip there, plenty of rides and good prices for the toys and books.

That was part of a day out for us from Paignton in my Dad's VW Beetle.
He'd belt it down Bovey Straight from memory.
Usually we combined it with a trip to the Moors.

In the 1960's Trago Mills was the go-to place for household essentials. One of our farming acquaintances suffered a fire in their house and lost most clothing and bedding. They saved the cheque book fortunately and went directly to Trago Mills to get the stuff they needed to carry on.

Don’t know the Devon Trago Mills but the one near Liskeard is like being in a time warp. It has everything from fishing tackle, furniture, garden equipment, food, etc, etc. in a rambling building that seems to go on forever. Worth a visit if you are in that neck of the woods.

Just the same at Newton, it's the original one before they spread their wings.

Our Son and his wife use the Liskeard one as they live in Kernow.

Alistair and I went up in his Aero S2 - an amazing car to passenger in with the power and side pipes speaking loudly thoroughly enjoyable.
A quick pit stop at Buckfast Abbey for a pasty and drinks - Buckfast Tonic wine now in cans ...

Good to meet jbk and his good lady there with their lovely Morgan too.

Shame I missed you guys..
Karen & I have been in Cornwall / Tavistock / Dartmoor for a few days & did a quick detour into Trago today on our way home (unfortunately not in the Morgan); we were gone by 11.30. Some interesting cars & 1 Morgan there, but didn’t see the owner (think it was K55). Would loved to have seen (and heard) Alistair’s Aero.
