John, sounds an excellent start, If you get a set of Rog's assisters and fit adjustable shocks to the rear as well, I think once you have lubed the rear springs you will find that totally satisfactory. I set my adjustable bilstein shocks on the rear about mid point. We are 11 stone and the wife 10 stone, don't know if load weight within reason makes any difference though to the shock setting. That set up totally removed the crashing rear end.
Front shocks, Mmmmm! not sure that adjustable dampers do much to the front, pull one off and push it in and out, there is very little resistance. All they do is slow the speed of the main and rebound spring down to prevent any oscillation, as small as that might be. The sliding pillar system was designed to self damp between the two springs and in fact driving the car with or without the dampers fitted to the front makes little difference. It is the progressive rate springs that have some element of taming the ride to the front end in the SSL set up in that the initial movement is fairly soft and irons out those small lumps and bumps that on the standard springs hit the full spring load and feed back through the steering wheel. You are so close you ought to try the above as the saving over full SSL is massive, A paid for holiday in fact!

An old sage at a well known Morgan suspension and steering set up dealership once told me that people often rave about a new set up as the best thing since sliced bread but a lot of it is in fact down to poorly serviced and maintained cars not performing at their best.

Good luck however you choose to sort your car out, but always bare in mind that its a Morgan and that's what you want it to drive like!

One thing to note - something I missed earlier.

Your 4/4, if the front springs are the same as were fitted to my 2014 car, has front springs that are not quite strong enough. The SSL front end will fix this. Cain at Wolf Performance can offer uprated springs if you prefer - which will be cheaper than the SSL mod - although I decided on the SSL mod for my car.

If your car crashes over speed bumps at the front, then the weaker front springs could be the cause - and adjustable shock absorbers won’t fix this.

Another added benefit of SSL is that you can opt for increased ride height during fitting of the front kit

Plus subsequent fine tuning of preload as the new springs inevitably bed in

I just had SSL fitted by Morganpark in Germany last week on my 2019 Plus 4.

After 50'000km the front suspension/kingpins had to be redone anyway. SSL is set on the soft side with a 28/32 (did i get that right?) clicks setting.
SSL are a great relief, especially on highways with concrete slabs. The SSL turn the first 1 cm of these bumps "rounder". The car feels more mature. Driving back to Switzerland for 1000km was less tiring. It is expensive but worth the effort if your front axle has to be done anyway. Don't forget to adjust lights/beams for the possibly new height.

I had fitted brake reaction bars and panhard rod before. BRB avoid shaking the front when breaking (even moderatly) and the panhard rod makes you feel more precise in roundabouts. And Swiss mountain roads.

But still: Smooth ride in a Morgan is not an option.

I'm just about to have the SSL front setup done. I'm interested in Rog's Assisters but even the mighty Google finds no reference to them except in this thread. Any pointers as to where I can go to find out more and possibly buy?
