a friend of mine had a 2.7 RST. I also knew a father and sun who owned a pair of 2.7 RSL`s, the son, raced a Pilbeam in Hilllclimb events and was unfortunately killed while doing so... I may have pics somewhere..
IMHO......... if MMC want to attract good looking trendy youngsters instead of beardy weirdy old farts they need to be far more radical in the design dept....BUT.... make the cars more affordable, improve build quality and stop the leaks......
Don't overlook that good looking trendy youngsters will eventually become beardy weirdy old farts, but beardy weirdy old farts will never become good looking trendy youngsters. Would you buy a used Morgan from a good looking trendy youngster ?
Might be a tough sell for the advertising agency with a typical Morgan demographic.
Jens, yes indeed a very clever bit of advertising, where one is provided with a whole set of ideals, though if one continued the Chevy advert you posted, perhaps more in line with the one Clipper posted, then which partner might be taking the other to the nursing home in the vehicle, or worse still perhaps displaying how truly versatile it might be for a whole life period by dropping the back seat and sliding in ones "box" for the final journey....?
Years ago I quite fancied one of those Suburbans. Trouble might have come with parking though - they were longer than my mid-terrace Edwardian house was wide

Graham, back in the late 90s I had to take one of those along with some other vehicles when a f’friends’ Company went bust owing me a lot of money. We ran it for a little while but it was a bit naff and neighbours didn’t like it parked.up ! Must have been the vinyl wood look on the sides and the orange paintwork……… Best MM PS Never got the majority of the money back !
Thanks Mike. I ran an ex-USAF Dodge crew cab pick up for a while in the mid 80s. Just as agricultural as a Series Landy, though somewhat larger. Think the Chevy would have been a little less agricultural.

Porsche... need to accept in order to survive they need to produce cars that customers want to buy instead of chasing a market that doesn't exist.
Porsche are doing just that. The GT cars, including the Sport Classic, are unobtainable, unless you have an incredibly strong buying history with Porsche; anyone who has bought one at list is sitting on a vehicle with ridiculously high residual values. Models like the Macan EV and Turbo have long waiting lists and Porsche don't struggle to sell the 911. Boxsters are available but this, imho, is due to there being more competition in that segment; whereas, if you want a four seat sports car, the 911 is pretty much the only vehicle in the market place.
It is no secret that I love 911s, in particular the 993, 964 and older. I was chatting with a friend yesterday, who took his first test drive in a 1970s 911 last weekend and he was amazed at how capable and uncompromised it felt. He was comparing it to other 70s classics he'd owned and felt it hammered home the point as to why so many auto makers have gone by the wayside and yet Porsche is still here making the 911. I have to say I agree. In 2008 I drove a 1973 911 Carrera RS; it had always been a 'dream car' for me and I had the chance to drive one that was for sale (not knowing prices were about to go insane!). The car in question was a little untidy, needed some work, but was matching numbers. I drove it with trepidation, thinking 'they say never meet your heros' but after the drive I was blown away with just how brilliant it was. It still sticks with me as to how good a vehicle it was. Porsche captured something special with the 911 and to my eyes, it is one of the automotive icons.
Just had a couple of days away Northallerton/Harrogate - took the 911 - it is a fantastic machine - looks great and so easy to use (and lose your driving licence if not careful)

Clipper, a few days ago I also greatly enjoyed a circa 50 mile cruise round local interesting roads once they had dried up after the rain washing all the salt down the drains. Undoubtedly the digital decision making and resultant actions taken relative to the way the twists and turns were handled, encouraging me to think I might be a far better driver than I am, can be quite amazing, and more so if one it tempted to engage in employing a little more power passing the apex than really necessary to maintain a smooth exit...Perhaps even more enjoyable if the exhaust flaps are selected to be opened, and the sound symposer piping induction roar through into the cabin... Jeez what a load of technology bundled up into a sports car...!
All this year the old Mog`s keys have ever been the ones reached for on any reasonably sunny day... None of the complexity of the above for sure, or indeed sophistication, though pops und bangs a plenty, perhaps even flames induced on the over run, as one dances heel and toe down through the gears to create a tad more volume from the orchestra... Good old Mog...(-:
I note you used Simons post on Porsche marketing, amazing how quickly the worm can turn, as apparently the "overs" some were happy to pay to be allowed to buy a GT3 and the likes, may be a thing of the past, and where reportedly it seems almost anyone can perhaps buy one by just walking in off the street... ?
With a bit of www searching it seems Porsche along with others may have fallen on hard times.
