The deed is done and the eagle has landed... Left home at 7am, back at 7pm. Misjudged the drive home, I thought about 170 miles 3-4hrs. It was 230 miles, starting in fog. Car is smooth, torquey and beautiful. The standard suspension surprised me. Seems well damped, not nadgery and not wallowing on bends. Happy with that. There are some things to address. - Significant wind noise, but I've just found the front left securing clamp was not fastened (to clamp the hood to the top of the screen). That can't have helped. - The bottom two inches of the rear sidescreen seals on both sides don't tuck under, but flair out, away from the body, leaving daylight. A microfibre cloth sealed it off enough to remain comfortable. Quite a breeze from that area onto my elbow and side. - Also, the sidescreens don't seal at the top, against the hood. Again, daylight visible, especially in the centre at the top. Draught and noise. - I thought it came with the lockable compartment at the back of the parcel-shelf. It doesn't. So storing tools and puncture kit will need thought. But a bonus is it has sidescreen covers, which weren't mentioned before. - Both front bonnet catches are very difficult to release / engage. I will look at that tomorrow to see if adjustment is easy, - Pairing my phone was simple, but pointless. The stereo is poor and weak. I don't mind that though. I ended up using my motorbike earplugs and it was then very pleasant at good cruising speeds. I only played a little with Sport, S+ and the paddles. Huge positives: - Wonderful looking thing - The engine will be everything I'll ever need. - The sports exhaust is very funny. - Seat comfort is phenomenal. Nearly 5 hours, one stop for fuel and no ill effects. - At 7/10ths the chassis / handling is good and on cold slippery roads, roadholding was confident. Everything BMW is taught and powerful. Everything Morgan is quirky, old fashioned or quaint. Characterful. I think this is going to work very well for us. An enjoyable day. 🙂👍

If it has the Sennheiser audio, and it probably does, there’s no room behind the rear panel for a storage compartment. But that’s not consistent with the stereo being poor and weak, the Sennheiser syestem is good in my car, even at Motorway speed.

Hi, no, it's just the standard factory stereo, not the Sennheiser.
The car has the factory coffee table book, showing its build. A nice thing. There it lists "lockable storage". That's what I thought was the label for the rear compartment. Curious.
It does have a glovebox, not checked if that locks. Is that what the factory means? Or is there a lockable storage box somewhere else perhaps?

The lockable storage (optional in CX with the standard audio, but not possible with the Sennheiser which I assumed would be standard in a Pinnacle), if fitted, 'is located at the rear of the parcel shelf'.
Actually, I understand that, even if you do have it, it's so small as to be almost useless. Nevertheless, something would be better than nothing.

It would be nice, but I can live without a decent stereo. But, having no spare wheel, I need to find somewhere for a can of tyre puncture repair goo. I also like to carry a small tool roll holding basic tools, zip ties and tape. I really prefer to have them hidden out of sight.
Tomorrow I might look for a space under the bonnet.
I would guess this is not a priority for the factory. My TR3A (now gone) had a boot, but that was reserved for the hood, tonneau, scissor jack hide mallet and sidescreens. It also had a spare wheel compartment (with a locked away spare wheel), largish locking glove box and two door pockets, as well as a rear shelf big enough for a seat. The TR was a smaller car than the Morgan! I suppose, on the other hand, I had to regularly use that tool kit. Hopefully not so with the Morgan.

Great news. Congratulations
I have the same problems with the hood, there is a noticeable gap where the door seal finishes near the top of door/side screen. leaving quite a gap between the side screen rear edge, the top of the door and the hood. I got Morgan to replace that seal with a longer section and that has cured most of that gap/draught.
I have noticed when the hood is damp (didn't when it was dry most likely hood is tighter) the outer edge of the hood around half way between the windscreen frame and the end of the sidecreen lifts and you can see light thru it, I think that is a design issue. I'm considering two options either using some velcro to attach the hood to the frame or attach a extra piece of mohair strap to the hood edge and then pass it under the frame/ over the top of the side screen and attach it by velcro or stud to the inner side of the hood frame. Either method will require you to undo when you take the hood down.
I have the standard audio and we have found that we get a greater volume by adjusting the car volume knob rather than using the phone volume control. Not the best system, but we can hear quite clearly at motorway speeds roof up or down. We found the radio was louder than recorded music, at the same volume control level' That might be to do with the original volume level the music was recorded at.
The seats are brilliant, very comfortable and with lots of space for your left foot to move around. You do get a bit of exhaust boom entering the cabin, which can be a little tiring on longer journeys. We are investigating pittong some acoustic material across the rear parcel shelf etc.
You may also find that the bottom door seals have a gap in the middle, which leads to a fair old draught.
Well it wouldn't be a Morgan, if it was perfect.

John. Thanks for your observations. Do you have any photos of the new seal that was replaced?
I would be very interested in the strap / velcro fix, if you take this further. I agree, it is inherent in the design of the frame hinge points. I don't see an elegant solution at the moment.
I could turn the music up to the point it was audible at 70mph. But it was a very 'tinny' poor quality and it amazed me how unbearably loud it was when I slowed down. At that point I decided no music and earplugs were better for my tinnitus! It's not a problem for me, I never had any audio in my old TR3A and didn't miss it.
Dynamically, there's no comparison with my old Triumph. The Morgan wins in every way. No, the thing that was a surprise is how poorly executed the fit and sealing is for roof, sidescreens and doors. No better than a 1959 Triumph in that respect. And the complete lack of somewhere to safely store a small toolkit from opportunists (here much worse than the Triumph!). I expect I will enjoy working through fixes though, just need some inspiration!

Its an easy DIY job, I was at Morgan having the service done and got them to do it whilst it was there, just need a suitable section of seal. You dont have to replace the entire seal, just add an extra section above where the current seal ends to achiieve the same effect. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/12/21/Moegan-door-seal.jpg) The speakers are a bit tinny, easy enough to replace them with better quality units, as they are useful for sat nav directions. You will probably find whilst you have the draughts in the car, you are continually adjusting the heater setting when you are in slower traffic/filtering, as it become too warm, compared to when moving at speed.Once you get the main sources of draughts sorted, you can usually set a more consistent heat setting for all conditions. Sue got to the point she could turn her side off....I'm yet to be in such a privileged position on the drivers side.Still a tale of 2 halves, toasty next to the transmission tunnel and slightly chilled/cold next to the door. Regards John

John, thanks for the photo.
"You will probably find whilst you have the draughts in the car, you are continually adjusting the heater setting when you are in slower traffic/filtering, as it become too warm," Yes, exactly what I was doing!
