Hi again and Happy New Year,
I'm still working my way through my little list on the Plus Six I bought last month. I would welcome further advice please.
With the hood up, the driver's side is a relatively draught and noise free. However, the passenger side is noisy. In her 1st trip, my wife found it very draughty from the top of the sidescreen where it meets the hood. Investigating on that side, I have a gap between the top of the sidescreen and the hood. It seems the sealing flap of the hood (the area above the fixed side window) is too far outside the cabin to rest against the outer top of the sidescreen. I can see daylight there from inside the cabin and can easily get my fingers between the top of the sidescreen and the hood. This isn't the case on the driver's side.
I don't think there is any adjustment in the sidescreen available. Ideally, if that could angle outwards by 3/4", it would then nicely snug up to the hood flap. But that would change the fit at the A-post and there is a just sufficient fit along that front seam of the sidescreen to A-post. I don't want to mess that up. Possibly, looking at the top corner of the sidescreen and A-post fit, there is room for the sidescreen to sit higher on the door, by about 1/4", before it gets too close to the A-post capping. Not sure how I could raise the sidescreen, nor whether that will harm the fit of the sidescreen to the rest of the door. But I doubt lifting it would improve the gap to the hood.
So, I'm currently thinking any adjustments will need to be to the hood. Perhaps, my hood might be a little too wide at the top?
Has anyone come across similar and found a way to adjust it?
Another little niggle is the sliding windows on both sidescreens. After a few minutes driving, they seem to open very slightly, needing to be closed shut. Only 1/4", but it introduces noise/draught. I'd like to fix it. Again, any suggestions please? Edited: to correct the inside / outside references!
Thank you, Martin

I have a similar issue on my plusfour but on my driver's side, but in my case it's the door not closing squarely against the hood. I have to release the tension in the roof with the front clip, then close the door and then retighten the roof. Not ideal, but I can at least do it from inside the car.

Apparently, there is a small amount of adjustment available in the door location. Also, it is possible to not quite engage the sidescreens correctly on the wheel bolts. I found one of mine was sitting up slightly, until I jiggled it and it dropped fully in.

Hello, I bought my first Morgan late last year, a 22 Plus Four, which I also found pretty draughty, particularly through that same gap between the top of the sidescreen and the hood. I've solved the problem in a rather vulgar fashion with 1 metre of 10mm round neoprene from ebay which I folded into about a third of its original length, taped it into a sausage shape and then simply stuffed it into the gap in the hood where it stays hidden until I raise the roof in spring. I've done both sides the same and so far it's served me well and although it's as low tech as you can get it does seem in keeping with the rest of the car. I've also glued the same neoprene to seal the gap between the door and bodywork and it's now far more comfortable than when I first brought it home.

I have used some neoprene D section self adhesive strips in a couple of places to reduce draughts. Still experimenting though. The worst places are near the door catches/locks and at the top of the sidescreen, particularly at speed. Two things worth checking are Is the sidescreen sitting correctly on the screwed fixings? Is the seal onto the windscreen top ok? It is channelled rubber and can come unstuck/ deformed. Use some impact adhesive to refit it. Mine have had the very ends refitted once over nearly 3 years.

Mine also had a dislodged hood seal, where it meets the windscreen. This was spotted and fixed by KH. It stopped a couple of my leaks, but not around the doors and sidescreens, nor the draughts and wind noise.
I had a go with Woolies 1/2" 'D' shaped seals yesterday. I had a good result on the driver's side. Now only a light draught. But the passenger side is still noisy and draughty. Rain has stopped play for now. I feel sure I will make a further improvement on the passenger side.
I accept it will always be noisy and somewhat draughty. But it was really uncomfortable before I started looking at it. Now much better and will be improved further. My goal is to get it no worse than my previous sidescreen TR3A. My side is now better than that. Unfortunately, it's my wife's side that gives me ear ache(!) and that needs more work.

It's just an unfortunate aspect of Morgan build quality and in some instances the continued use of side screens..In my experience the CX chassis is in some areas much more water tight than some of my trads, especially at speed. I must admit although expecting the CX to have draughts to some degree, it has been been a little disappointing as to the extent of draughts remaining especially around the door lock area, the bottom of the door and so on. The wind noise might be helped more if they insulated the hood and had multilayers, but they don't so it's a feature we have to live with.
Come the roof down time, most of this will be forgotten, till next winter

I did drive it, roof down, last week. It was excellent. And you're right, you don't notice the draughts around the doors 😁

The hood of my arp4 had two layers . I dont understand why they dont used it for the plus four. I have also used néoprène to fill the gaps. The top of the sidescreens are still covered with the old flaps.
